‪#‎Nabakalebara‬ Journey (20/20) Neeladri Bije : Deities return to Shree mandira, completing their 9 day sojourn during chariot festival. Their return to the sanctum sanctorum (Bejeweled Throne) is named 'Neeladri Bije'. The deities are taken in 'Goti Pahandi'(Single Procession) to the 'Ratna Sinhasana'(Bejeweled Throne). It is also worthwhile to mention here that during the Niladri Bije ritual, Rasagola bhoga is offered to the deities. It is the only occasion when the deities are offered the Rasagola bhoga. ‪#‎JaiJagannath

#DoYouKnow Generally in all Hindu temples the deities are worshiped inside and are not taken out. It is only during Ratha Jatra festival, the 'Chaturdha Murti' (not bije pratimas) of Jagannath Temple are taken out in chariots to another temple and worshiped there.

‪#‎KnowTheRituals‬ Lakshmi-Narayana bheta (Chahani melana): - It is another instance of human feelings of deities. According to a folktale, goddess Lakshmi being left behind is restlessly longing for Jagannatha. She had asked Her secret messengers to inform Her as soon as they come to know about His return. As Nandighosha nears the palace of Gajapati Maharaja, the messengers inform Her. She then comes out of the temple to Chahanimandapa (Viewing pavilion) on the roof of Rosheighara from where She steals a glimpse of Nandighosha. Finding the chariot in front of the palace, She rushes to receive and welcome Jagannatha. This ritual is also called Chahani melana (union of eyes) in local dialect. There, they greet each other but feigning anger, She returns to Her temple.
