Hi James,

Looks like this was just a syncing issue with our comment api. Cheers for the heads up though.

As a premium subscriber should I really be seeing an advert for soulmates in the middle of my home page with the latest update?

Any response on this? Today the books advert fills my nexus 4 screen as I scroll to it.

It'd be nice to have the ability to quickly search on the article currently open. Thanks.

On 3.16, 440 beta, on android 5.1. Moto X. Going to the Discover tab results in a blank page, after which the rest of the app has blank pages. Have to force quit and restart to get it back.

Hi James, "Discover" feature is still under development and looks like it is not working well currently. We will turn this feature off remotely. Thanks for reporting.

I just tried out the US election "campaign in a minute" feature. Aside from the question of how a "one minute" report can include a two minute video, I liked it.

However, when playing the video on caucuses with my phone in portrait orientation both the left and right sides are cut off. (See images)

I tried to rotate the phone to landscape, but the content stayed in portrait. It did not rotate or adjust to the horizontal orientation.

Yes, auto-rotate is enabled.

Hello everyone, we have just released another beta (version 3.18.490) out.

As well as taking care of a few bugs, we've added support for our upcoming coverage of the US elections. While in beta, you may receive some notifications to a new kind of content. Any feedback on the format would be greatly received.

Thanks

I just received my first "minute" update on the Guardian app. I must say it's very cool, love the cards with short news stories. Are there plans to expand this feature for other news sections too?

Hi, I'm curious to know why there is the option to change the text size in-app. Isn't this something that someone can do using their device settings? What's the advantage of an in-app setting? Not a criticism but was just wondering.

Hello Everyone!
I'm a UX researcher at The Guardian, and as part of our mission to improve app we would like to invite you to a 2 week study where we will regularly ask for feedback on the app and new features that are in development.

We're especially short of female participants, so please help me bring a healthy gender balance to the group.

What will it involve?
If you are suitable and willing, we will invite you to a private Google Plus group of 10-15 people

We’ll post questions on the group, and be looking to get your feedback. It will only take a few minutes each time, and there will be a monthly prize draw with £250 of prizes.

To get started please complete this questionnaire.

What happened to the greyed out 'read' feature on Android? Latest build doesn't do it anymore. Was rather helpful

It's still doing it for me, although I recently changed phones and installed from the Play Store so I may not be using the beta version

I don't understand: We've had Australian companies win bids to design the ceremonies for overseas events like the Olympics, are we really so parochial we cannot stand to see an American company (which btw actually employs people here in Australia) win a bid to do the same thing here?

Really?

http://www.brisbanetimes.com.au/sport/gold-coast-commonwealth-games-reason-behind-call-clouded-20160106-gm0qz3.html
We'll have to wait longer to find out why American company got job.

On rotation of the device, the Guardian app does not resize to fit the screen, it simply rotates and remains the same size.

Can I ask the Guardian team about the amount of data that is used when not on wifi. I'm finding more and more each month the Guardian app taking lots more data from my allowance. Are the images larger file size wise than I'd expect them to be? Is there any plans for a data friendly mode where you can get smaller images on data and hi res ones on wifi?
