Black and White Ruffed Lemur
All of the details for our trip to #Madagascar have been finalized and this guy is only one of the species of Lemur that we hope to encounter during our visit! It's only about two months until we leave! Until we get back, I leave you with this beautiful lemur from the SF Zoo a couple of months. (Unfortunately, most of the lemur species are listed as endangered due to habitat destruction. The Black and White Ruffed Lemur shown here is critically endangered!)

This adorable little Ring-tailed Lemur was exploring a bit while the group was hanging out. When they were ready to move out, he climbed up on Mom's back and off they went!

Torotoroka Scops Owl
From our last stop in Madagascar, the Anjajavy Forest. This little beauty hangs out near the front door of the resort, so we had several chances to get just the right shot. The Torotoroka Scops Owl is another species that is unique and endemic to Madagascar.
I was going to save this one, but since #birdpoker theme for today is Owls I couldn't wait!

Grey Bamboo Lemur
What a cute little guy from our trip to #madagascar . The Grey Bamboo Lemur is the smaller and slightly more abundant of the two types of Bamboo Lemurs. Unfortunately, he is still listed as Vulnerable due to habitat loss and other factors.

Boy, oh boy, did we get lucky with the clouds the morning we headed to the Avenue of the Baobabs near Morondova! It just kept getting better and better, so glad we got up at 2:30 and headed to this site...

Owls are some of my most favorite birds and I was delighted to get a great view of this beauty. He was hanging out in our camp one evening in the Kirindy Reserve. The White-Browed Hawk-Owl is endemic to Madagascar.
