Kerry International Dark-Sky Reserve
Tonight I visited Foilhommerum Bay on Valentia Island with my workshop group. Here in the Kerry International Dark-Sky Reserve there is no significant light pollution of the atmosphere and so the Milky Way was visible with the naked eye.

Some beautiful autumn color along the Illal Mountain Trail over the weekend. The mountain on the right is Coquihalla Mountain, and on the left is Jim Kelly Peak. These mountains are part of the Coquihalla Volcanic Complex, and Coquihalla Mountain is a stratovolcano. I really enjoyed this wonderful hike, although it was super windy and on the chilly side. Had a down jacket along and was very happy for it :)

Mountain Flowers
Before all the fires started there was an exceptional bloom in the higher elevations of the Yosemite area. In July our workshop group photographed this scene, with the first light on a mountain peak and dense patches of paintbrush in the foreground. But we found lots of other flowers, and you can see more images here:
