Why '404' ?

'404 Not Found' and 404 (pronounced "four oh four") error message is a Hypertext Transfer Protocol (HTTP) standard response code, in computer network communications, to indicate that the server could not find what was requested.

'404 - Dolphinarium Not Found' is our play on this common error message - especially significant given that the captive dolphin entertainment industry is so heavily reliant on the internet to advertise and sell tickets.

'404' is also significant when it comes to another deadly entertainment show as the last known fight in the Colosseum was on 1st January 404 AD.

404AD is usually given as the year of the martyrdom of Saint Telemachus, a Christian monk who was stoned to death by the crowd for trying to stop a gladiator fight in a Roman amphitheatre.

When the emperor Honorius heard of Telemachus' attempt to stop the fight he declared him a martyr and the emperor banned all further gladiatorial combats.
