Sunset in Paradise

A new scene from the main beach at Anjajavy, Madagascar that I processed for +Alicia Magnant.  I've also uploaded a number of new beach scenes from Hawaii and elsewhere to my website at http://www.alexlapidus.com -- look for the On the Beach category.  Unfortunately I was unable to add this photo to my Madagascar album at https://plus.google.com/u/0/photos/104294083885937159989/albums/5933913563025170673 , but you can see many other photos there of this amazing country.  The kind folks from Google are working on tracking the bug.

Message from beyond

First light at Dee Why Beach (Sydney Northern Beaches) this morning. This was the first shot of the morning and there was quite some time to sunrise yet the sun was making its presence felt with sunrays emerging from under the horizon.

42 Days in Portugal
Remembering the journey in April, May and June 2018
Day 16 (2018-05-13)

We cleaned the car, filled fresh water into the tank and went for a stroll in Alferce, then we drove on the Fóia, with 902 m the highest mountain in the Algarve region. From the summit the Atlantic Ocean both in the south and in the west of Portugal can be seen.
We had not planned to visit Monchique, but the sight of two flowering trees in front of a picture of the town made of azulejo tiles made us change our mind. We did not regret this decision because Monchique is a really lovely town.
After eating lunch later than usual, we left Monchique at 15:00. 45 minutes later we arrived in Aljezur. We went up to the ruins of a castle which was built by the Moors, and took photos of the church Igreja Matriz de Nossa Senhora da Alva.
In the village Odeceixe a windmill can be viewed. The Praia de Odeceixe (on the photo), situated 4 km west of the village, is called one of the most beautiful beaches of Portugal in one of our travel guidebooks.
We wanted to sleep in Odemira, but on the way to this town I saw a signpost to the Farol do Cabo Sardão. As I love lighthouses, I could not resist to drive there. We spent the night at a nearby parking lot.
Kilometer reading: 4585 km.

If It Can't Be Moved, Flow Around It -- Olympic Peninsula, Washington.

The is a re-worked version of a photo I posted over a year ago. I ran across it today and wanted to see it in my stream again. Hope you don't mind... :) I loved how the tide had carved this interesting pattern around these two smooth stones.
