Photo: We did Ear on Saturday and Rocky on Sunday (July 26-27).  Ear is about 23 miles west of Choteau.Photo: Behold, Ear Mountain! (2014 photo). The 125 mile journey from Helena includes about 25 miles of gravel. I take the Bellview Road out and then come back into Choteau on the Teton Canyon Road. I like to stop at the Ice Cream Parlor for a huckleberry milk-shake.Photo: Aerial Photo of Ear Mountain courtesy of Sam Beebe/EcotrustPhoto: 2014 - Along the Jeep trail.Photo: The ridge we followed is the one right above my cap.Photo: Photo: On the way up to Ear MountainPhoto: 2014 photo of Tim on the way up to the shoulder.Photo: 2014Photo: Photo: Photo: 2014 - Me, finishing that little scramble with the shoulder behind me.Photo: We came up on the other side, crossed over at "Top of NE Shoulder Approach" and then followed a trail to the "Correct Couloir".Photo: Photo: Photo: 2104 - The next phase of the hike involves hiking along the base of the cliffs to the couloir.
