Palm Beach -- Environmentalist staged an anti-coal protest at the Platts 15th Annual Coal Properties and Investment Conference at the Marriott in West Palm Beach Tuesday afternoon. South Florida Earth First members Panagioti Tsolkas and Lynne Purvis (both cq, both of Lake Worth) unfurled a large banner reading "Coal: A Global Death Sentence" during the conference luncheon, before being removed from the property. "The crisis of climate change is being recognized," said Tsolkas (not pictured). "We need to open up the debate for the alternatives. Now is the time to put a little pressure on." Here, Purvis is seen holding the banner on Okeechobee Boulevard after they were removed from the conference luncheon. NOT FOR DISTRIBUTION OUTSIDE COX PAPERS. OUT PALM BEACH, BROWARD, MARTIN, ST.
