Hiking through the fields of wild flowers on the side of Table Mountain overlooking the Columbia River between Washington and Oregon. It was a strenuous and magnificent hike. We climbed up to the edge of a great and frightening cliff and with ancient firs, looked out over the great river. On the sides of the mountain, hundreds of thousands of wild flowers seemed like a galaxy of luminous, brightly colored stars in the fields of the wilderness. They are so tiny and beautiful, it was just difficult for me to capture the sense.
