Coming eventually, depending on time and weather forecast, a few more bears, mirror, and more. There will be flowers planted in the block.Photo: I made a tile mosaic of Maureen's bear collection.

I know this is a rather crazy thing to do, but I was able to spare some time. I wanted to see if I had the skill.

Eventually the wall, which runs the length of our yard will all be tiled (but not all with bears).Photo: Stage 1, mug shots of all the bears.Photo: In tile.Photo: Photo: Photo: Photo: Photo: Photo: Photo: Photo: Photo: Photo: Photo: Photo: Photo: Photo: Photo: Photo: Photo: Photo: Photo: Photo: Photo: Usually the pig is wearing blue overalls.Photo: So I included them in the tile version.Photo: Photo: Using plate scraps, I was able to give her a frilly dress.Photo: Photo: This cap is cut at the seem where the two blocks meet.Photo: Teddy, the king of the bears.Photo: So I gave him crown (and a green vest).Photo: The next few pictures show the process I came up with. I traced the pictures from my computer monitor, noting colors.Photo: Then I looked in my inventory of tile and plates for the closest match.Photo: Using my wet saw, I cut the pieces to size, using the paper as my blueprint.Photo: Brown tile marked for first cuts.Photo: Cut lined up on saw.Photo: Next set of cuts marked.Photo: Finishined product version 1.

The ungrouted mastic holding up the tiles washed off in the hurricane, which was a bummer. I gathered and sorted all the pieces.

Since I had to start over, I made some modifications such as setting the eyes and nose flush to the rest of the face.

I used thin set instead of mastic for take 2.
