Photo: Time To Face The WorldPhoto: Autoauric Pleasures - Taken at the ROM in Toronto. Part of my People set. I struggle with posting something with and without people in it. This time, I felt that there was a story to be told with this shot.Photo: *Hello, I Love You" - Won't you tell me your name? :) Taken in San Diego, CA. Sorry I haven't been around lately. Work has consumed my time from the deliriously delicious distractions of the G+ kind. I hope to be back soon! :)Photo: With Or Without YouPhoto: Peace Out!Photo: HypercubistPhoto: Helping Her See The World - A BIG thank you to +Brian Rose for featuring my "People" set (featured here with this photo as well). There are more +1's and shares on his stream than mine LOL. I am grateful to say the least. Cheers mate!

This is also part of my Black & White set. If interested, click here :)

"Once you say you’re going to settle for second, that’s what happens to you in life." JFK.Photo: Twin StudyPhoto: Neon Nights - O'Hare Airport, Chicago, IL. Part of my People set. I am sure many of you are familiar with the neon lights walkway and many have taken this shot. I wanted to try something a bit different. I added a slight fractalius effect to this photo (the first time I have ever really used it) to highlight the patterns and give it a painterly feel. I hope you like it. Have a great morning / afternoon / evening G+!Photo: Hitchens - I had the great privilege of seeing Christopher Hitchens speak about religion at the Royal Ontario Museum (ROM) a few years back. He was charming, witty and engaging. I had a chance to talk to him after his talk and have him sign my copy of God Is Not Great. Whatever you may think of him and his ideas, he is one of the most erudite and commanding intellectuals of our times. Hitch Baby, stay well :) Part of my People set.Photo: Portrait of a TexterPhoto: Comfort Zones - This Sunday is the beginning of #SOOCSunday! There is something to be said about trying something outside of your comfort zone when it comes to photography. The idea of posting something straight out of camera can be intimidating but well worth the challenge. For those interested in participating, you may crop and resize images (or not) but that is all! :) Here is the link to the daily themes: http://ericleslie.com/guides/daily-photography-themes-googleplus/ organized by +Eric Leslie and +Melanie Kintz. There is only one other prerequisite: have fun doing it!

#PlusPhotoExtractPhoto: The Three Koudelkas - Josef Koudelka, a Czech photographer, is best known for his documentary of the human spirit in desolate times across the European continent. Many of his photos had an impact on me but his "Czechoslavakia, 1960" iconic pic of a silhouetted man walking towards a bench with these wavering trees in Prague was the inspiration behind my image. Here is Koudelka's pic: http://graememitchell.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2008/03/joseph_koudelka_mar08.jpg

I would like to thank and welcome all the 500+ people who have circled me when I woke up today. Cheers!Photo: Bruce Wayne's FlashbackPhoto: Spy Rule 009: Never Follow Too Close Part of my People set.Photo: SynchronicityPhoto: Czech CharmsPhoto: Park Piper - Like most who love photography, it a stress reliever for me and something I enjoy to the nth degree. When I saw this gent at High Park in Toronto I thought "What? A bagpiper with no kilt? How is that allowed?" :) He was actually pretty good. For #SunsetSaturday. The sun is actually setting.Photo: The DaytripperPhoto: Escher Orders Ouzo - (c) John Kosmopoulos, All Rights ReservedPhoto: Dazed & ConfusedPhoto: Avril Lavigne - This is a photo from my daughter's first concert! We had a chance to meet Avril on a few occasions and I have to tell you that she is a cool, down-to-earth, amazingly talented woman. Part of my "People" set.

For #WomenWednesday curated by +Niki Aguirre, +Athena Carey, +Lee Daniels, +Kerry Murphy, +Teresa Stover, and +Christina Lawrie and for #WeLoveMusicWednesday curated by +Folletto Folletto.Photo: Photo: Her Smile Always Kills Me Softly - My contribution to #WomenWednesday curated by +Athena Carey, +Kerry Murphy, +Teresa Stover, +Niki Aguirre, +Christina Lawrie and +Lee Daniels. Canada has 10 provinces and 3 territories with 4 women premiers in 4 out of the 10 provinces. Not bad :)Photo: iSad - Steve Jobs tribute at an Apple Store - iRip.
#WhateverWednesday curated by +Cicely Robin Laing.Photo: Tim Burton's Imagination Was Here - An exhibition on Tim Burton's work was featured at the TIFF LIghtbox in Toronto. It was cool! Although I don't have a traditional Halloween photo for today (perhaps my sp is enough to scare you :), I am posting a non-traditional, "imaginative", blurry-man-without-a-head photo for Halloween. Part of my People set.Photo: Jason Statham - TIFFPhoto: Once A Prince - Prague, Czech Republic. I like breaking the "rules" of photography as long as the photo can tell a story. This was taken on the path to St. Charles Bridge. Locals will tell you that giving money is frowned upon and is against the law because many of the people on the street are con-artist. In this case, I guess I broke something else. I found the moment very powerful.Photo: Photo: My Mini-MePhoto: The Existential PhotographerPhoto: From A Whisper To A SighPhoto: Afternoons & Coffee SpoonsPhoto: Mucha's Musings - Part 'People" shot, part "Street" shot. What do you get in a Bohemian part of Toronto known as "Kensington Market*? Anything and everything all in one - a street performer playing traditional Chinese music, a road closure, a Mucha mural and a bike to get around :) I plucked this out of the archives (pun intended :). I was honored to have +Brian Rose post my People photo album on his G+stream.Photo: S**thead - I couldn't resist the title. I could have called this "The Republican Candidate" but I digress...All kidding aside, there are many on both sides of the aisle. We also have many politicos that have similar monikers :) Have a great evening everyone!Photo: Fall FashionsPhoto: Today's Tom Sawyer

Don't forget about SOOC Sunday! :)

"A modern-day warrior
Mean mean stride,
Today's Tom Sawyer
Mean mean pride...

No, his mind is not for rent
To any god or government.
Always hopeful, yet discontent,
He knows changes aren't permanent, But change is. ..."

Rush ~ Tom SawyerPhoto: The Negative PeoplePhoto: Photo: Photo: The Scholar WandererPhoto: Ottawa Locks at sunset. It was good timing on my part. I went passed this area about 5 times that day before I saw this shot. Part of my People set. A special Happy Birthday wish to +Athena Carey today! Wish her a great day on her G+ page. Cheers!
#ottawaPhoto: When She Found Her Dreams, She Soared. I had a conversation with my daughter on the weekend about exactly this - her potential and her dreams. There is often a simple notion that most people forget about their own happiness and it is this: know what you want and have the courage to get it. Keeping dreaming the dream my little girl and you will soar!

Have a great day everyone!Photo: Missing The ShotPhoto: #MonochromeMonday curated by +Siddharth Pandit.

Clues To Other People's Lives - I kept wondering about the stories of all these people as I took the shot. What is that man worried about? Who is hiding behind that awning and holding that woman's hand? Did the couple have a good time last night? Do the foursome hang out a lot together? I'm a curious cat :)Photo: #WomenWednesday
Czech Your Junk At The Loo - Prague...

Social Experiment - Behavioural Observation Logs

Log 1: When 1 male enters the loo, 99% of those males choose #2. The other 1% are blind.
Log 2: When 2 males enter the loo, each runs to #2. The winner stays at #2 while the loser waits for #2.
Log 3: When 3 males enter at the same time, something interesting happens: if they are friends, 1 uses #2 (usually the first one in the door) while the other 2 use the stalls. If they are strangers, it becomes an opening scene to Casino Royale: Casino Royale pre-title fight with John Barry's OHMSS score.
Log 4: If 4 males enter the loo one after the other, they each take one of the open slots and only look at each other and talk back and forth. Strange. Very strange.
Log 5: If you photograph this scene, make sure there is no one in the loo with you. Then use #2 :)Photo: Photo: Photo: Photo: Passion's Postcard From PraguePhoto: The Rule of ThirdsPhoto: That Kind Of Woman - You decide what that means by the photo :) Have a great day everyone!Photo: No Time For A BreakPhoto: The Lesser of Two Evils - I have a daughter and I am quite sensitive to statements, both in advertising and amongst her peers, concerning what is considered "beautiful". We had a great conversation about this yesterday. I would rather that she pay attention to her phone than the billboard in this photo. But then again, it depends on what is happening on that phone. The great thing is this: I trust her to make the right decisions. She has proven that to me time and time again. She just read this statement. In response, she said: "Aw, thanks Dad!". I love her to pieces.

A friendly reminder that it is SOOC Sunday tomorrow!Photo: Swaggy, Swaggier, SwaggiestPhoto: Tomorrow Is Today
"If we could travel into the past, it's mind-boggling what would be possible. For one thing, history would become an experimental science, which it certainly isn't today. The possible insights into our own past and nature and origins would be dazzling. For another, we would be facing the deep paradoxes of interfering with the scheme of causality that has led to our own time and ourselves. I have no idea whether it's possible, but it's certainly worth exploring."

CARL SAGAN, NOVA interview, Oct. 12, 1999

Imagine meeting yourselves in the future. When I took this photo of a younger couple walking towards an elderly couple in Prague I thought exactly that. I don't know if it was because I was reading certain books at the time, but I hope the idea and meaning does not escape anyone. It would be something else.Photo: Guarding The UnknownPhoto: Lady of the KiPhoto: The Hope of HopePhoto: Jazzin'Photo: When He Used To FunkPhoto: My Little Miss - My daughter is a bit younger here but the title of this photo is so apt I can't even begin to tell you. Sometimes I think she is an adult trapped in a little girl's body. We do our best to keep her living in her creative world of childhood promises. It feels like a losing battle at times, but I can't even begin to tell you how proud of her we all are.

For Square Sunday curated by +Matt Soave. Thank you to everyone who participated in another successful SOOC Sunday!Photo: We Fell In Love In A Hopeful Place - When I photograph people I like to find a natural setting with natural frames. The title is a little twist on a recent song by Rihanna: Rihanna - We Found Love ft. Calvin Harris

Let's not forget about SOOC Sunday!Photo: When The Winds Whispered To Them - This was taken on the Pacific Beach Pier in San Diego. To see a black and white version of the bridge posted earlier, please click here: https://plus.google.com/105209854925481789028/posts.
I would like to wish everyone a great day!Photo: Biography Of A Good Day In Waiting - Imagine if you could display what you feel and think at any given moment throughout the day on your screen as a complex biofeedback mechanism. Would you learn to behave differently to calm yourself? Would you want to learn more to enhance the colours of reward and pleasure? Imagine that :) What do you think?

Tomorrow is SOOCSunday! :) I hope to be around to check out some photos. Thanks in advance for participating.

JohnPhoto: Sorry that I wasn't around for #SOOCSunday today. Things are quite hectic for the moment. Thank you to all who participated!

A lensbaby SOOC, jpe, square crop.Photo: Running To Stand Still - It has been a crazy week but today was a relaxation day.  I have been fiddling around with some photos and found this one.  Beyond the composition, I mainly posted this for the ghost effects and motion.  Have a good one! #youreawesomefor+1ingthispost :)
