Photo: Photo: We had a lot of territory to cover this day so we left Petra at 6 A.M. and drove the 150 miles north and turned west near Amman to cross the border back into Israel. We took a different route this time, driving through mountains from Petra, sometimes on one lane roads around blind corners. It was not for the faint of heart. Once out of the mountains we traveled along the Jordan side of the Dead Sea and stopped to take a few photos where the salt was more apparent than on the Israeli side.Photo: Along the way we stopped and looked at the above rock which the guide described as Lot's wife who had been turned into a pillar of salt because she looked back at the destruction of Sodom, contrary to God's instructions.Photo: Photo: Our guide and driver for our two day visit to JordanPhoto: A view of the sea and the salt
