Of course I rode.

Had a 24x3" rear tire, a radial laced front 26" wheel. Rear was laced crow's foot. Gearing was 32x25 in lowest gear, and I still had to walk it up a few steep hills. It weighed 45 pounds... all steel. In this shot, I was doing a charity ride, did about 115 miles total on it before the weather got bad and I had to bail. I still have the hub, but the bike was stolen out of my yard a couple years ago.

One of these days, I may have to build another one. I got a LOT of comments and thumbs-ups on this thing.Photo: Another shot of the Rat Chopper. All those road and hybrid bikes? Those were people I was keeping up with. This is at the rest stop at mile 114, right before the thunderstorms hit.Photo: Weighed my LHT yesterday, it's 32 pounds as you see it here. Mostly made of second-hand mtb parts. I think I can get it a bit lighter, but weight isn't a primary factor. Anybody try to build a lightweight Trucker? What's it weigh?Photo: The LHT resting after my commute.Photo: From July, 2011Photo: 2 weeks post-op.Photo: Photo: Red dirt. Must be Mississippi.Photo: Death by ribs.
