Photo: All 6 panels joined.  Note the uncut light blue tips are alternately folded along a seam stitch to lay flat and avoid bunching.
Photo: Now to reinforce the center joint - the light blue overlaps the purple (cut edge) and will get sewn down.  Only 2 layers of fabric here.
Photo: This is the second tip sewn down.  The first stitch is hidden under the layers.  Folded as flat as possible along the stitch line.  Note this is forming a cone - so there is bunching in the other folds when flat on this axis. Seam is run out equidistant on either side just for a balanced look from the outside.
Photo: Outside view of seam joint sewn flat.  Note that this is going to form a cone - so there is bunching on the other axis that is not being sewn presently.
Photo: One more stitch added for appearance.
