Photo: Wallowa Lake Balsam Root. Today is Nature Photography Day. I'm not going to get a chance to photograph today so instead I'm sharing this image I took last week at Wallowa Lake in northeastern Oregon. The sky started to clear right after sunrise following a couple days of unseasonably cold and stormy weather. New snow was on the peaks and balsam root were thick on the moraine above the lake. The most challenging part of creating this image was dealing with the wind blowing the flowers. It required difficult blending of several frames taken at different ISOs and focal points in order to get everything properly exposed and sharp.
