Photo: The current #urbansnap  theme is Little Houses

Here are some little houses for Birds found in San Francisco.

Photo: San Francisco will do anything to get featured in #urbansnap . This week the Bird houses are out in force for our Little Houses theme. Looks like this one even raised the roof for us.

+Urban Snap hosted by me and +Kristine Ward. The theme changes every Thursday.
Photo: So here are some unexpected Little Houses I found today for this week's #urbansnap  courtesy of the one and only Mr +Gordon Laing. This morning Gordon treated me to brekkie at Mama's in Washington Square (North beach, SF) because after hearing him tell us all how much he loved the place whilst on Sunday's Photowalk, I sent him a blog post I wrote about this popular spot way back in 2006. My complementary prose unexpectedly resulted in an invitation to join him and so it was that I found myself this morning tucking into crab Benedict and omelette and all manner of French toasts with Gordon and his daughter. What a fun hour we spent. At some point I noticed that the entire cafe was decorated with Little Houses. Well, knock me down with a feather - what were the chances of that happening? Seriously. The #urbansnap  Gods had colluded and pushed me along the paths of fate to create a moment of wonderful coincidence.

Thank you, thank you so much +Gordon Laing, I hope our paths will cross again. If you are not familiar with Gordon, do check out his Camera Labs website, a must for any photographer, where he shares information about the tests he carries out on all sorts of photography gear: http://www.cameralabs.com/about/

And if you want to read that sadly dated blog post review of Mama's I wrote over 6 years ago, check here. It hasn't changed a bit since then...

Photo: On 15th Avenue, between Pacheco and Ortega, at the base of San Francisco's Golden Gate Heights, sit several grand homes where the mailboxes are mini-me Little House replicas of the main buildings. #urbansnap
