Photo: "Carmine Bee-Eater Display" - an image from the Kruger National Park, South Africa. I just loved how this beautiful summer migrant posed here against the green background. Have a great weekend, folks - we are moving house today so yeah!
Photo: "Regal Tawny Eagle" - this majestic Tawny Eagle perched close to us one afternoon in the Kruger National Park. We were watching some Carmine Bee-Eaters fluttering about, when this one made its appearance.
Photo: I captured this juvenile African Jacana from a low angle by resting my lens over the side of the small boat I was on. The early morning light just made the bird "pop" nicely.
Photo: The Malachite Kingfisher is one of Africa's most beautiful birds. They are quite small so getting a decent photo of one requires either a VERY long lens, or that you find some way to get VERY close. This was captured at an effective focal length of 960mm from a mokoro (dugout canoe) on the Okavango Delta, Botswana in the Xaxaba region.
Photo: "Spoonbill Argument" - These 2 African Spoonbills were engaged in some kind of squabble at our local pond and rookery the other day. Looks complete like a married couple having a tiff! You can see the man flinching as he is being rambled at hahaha. Enjoy!
