Photo: Mountain Monday - Liberty Bell at Washington Pass

I have been busy photographing for the last few weeks but as the weather is no longer nice and sunny, most of this has not included many mountain views.  Some great waterfalls and Fall colours though.  Earlier in October, however, I was able to photograph the peaks around Washington Pass in the North Cascades, and made this photo of Liberty Bell.  Liberty Bell is one of the peaks that tower over Washington Pass near the highway.  These meadows were are perfect place to photograph it, though I would have loved just a few clouds! :)

Photo: Liberty Bell Mountain at Washington Pass - Mountain Monday

This is a new photograph I've processed from my trip to Washington Pass in the North Cascades with +Alan Majchrowicz in October of 2012.  I keep going back and forth on my feelings on this foreground, but right now I like it.  :)

Photo: Mountain Monday - Kangaroo Ridge in the North Cascades

Last week I was fortunate to be able to do some photography and hiking with with +Alan Majchrowicz in Washington State's North Cascades National Park.  Thanks again Alan!  I have not processed very many of my photos from last week, but did look through them today for a good +Mountain Monday candidate.  This photo was made in the meadows near Washington Pass - a location with many great foreground possibilities.  The last direct sunset light had already disappeared from Kangaroo Ridge, but this purple glow was still in the sky and the ridge and I quite like the results.

Photo: Washington Pass - Kangaroo Ridge for Mountain Monday

The last photo I posted from here was a similar angle with the purple/mauve hues after the sun went down ( http://goo.gl/ACr60 ).  This new photo was made while there was still some direct sunset on the peaks.  I may prefer the first one, but I do like these grasses for a foreground. :)
