I always believed that having humor, good subtle humor, is a proof of intelligence and refinement. And Mike has plenty of it. I always liked people who can make fun of themselves in a real frank way (it takes courage and confidence to do it) and Mike does it naturally and in a very smart ad funny way.
I always loved open people and Mike is one of the most open and kind that I've ever met. He's always ready to help, even strangers in the street, he's very forgiving, even when you ruin his shots (but don't try it taking my word for it, I will not be made responsible if you get kicked instead of forgiven :). And he's living in (one of) the most beautiful countries in the world, France!
Should I also mention that he's a fabulous photographer, or do you already know that too well? :)

So, that's +Michael Diblicek I know and I'm so very happy to count him among my friends.
Thank you for coming to Berlin, Mike, and for making me laugh so much! :)

It's not easy to write something about Joel. He's so many things that I have a really hard time choosing among them, without the fear that I'll leave too many out. And he's a very private person, so he might not even want others to write about him. But I'll take the chance. Actually I would have posted this portrait earlier, if I knew how to put in words what I want to say...
First and foremost, I want to say is that he is an astonishing guy who hides much more surprises than you could ever imagine (or I could ever imagine, for that matter). How do I know that? Well, aside from what I've seen, I just know! And since I'm very good at “reading” people, you should take my word for it :)
What I admire more than anything about him is the passion he puts in everything he does. The way he believes in what he does and the level of dedication to his art. Joel thinks big. And this is not a figure of speech, he really goes where not many would go and that with an easiness and straightforwardness that can only amaze and inspire. And like I said, you won't get bored with him. You may be left open-mouthed while listening to him, but never bored. Plus he has a very subtle sense of humor that's downright irresistible. The kind that sometimes you don't really know if you should laugh or if it's something serious, which is intriguing and charming at the same time.
Add to that who he is as a photographer and also his genuine kindness and his gentle manners towards everyone, without forgetting about the fact that he is as enthusiastic and innocent like a child, and you'll know why I was so happy to finally meet +Joel Tjintjelaar in Berlin.

Should I add that he's a perfect model, or is it obvious??? :D

Berlin Photowalk 2012

If I were to search for just a word to describe +Athena Carey the first that would come to my mind would be “happy”.
...and smiling.
...and funny.
...and positive.
...and always kind and ready to help (well that's 6 words, but I still haven't found one that comprises all 6 :)

Getting to know her better during the time we were preparing the +GPlus Euro Photowalk in Berlin was a real joy, the fun we had all these months while doing it can't be described. Of course the fun was great with all the other co-organizers (+Joel Tjintjelaar +Joerg Jung +Luca Cesari +Marc Koegel) but as you might imagine, the girl-talk can only be done between girls, so that's where my best buddy was (and is) Athena. And because of the great fun we had organizing it (and afterwards even greater, being there in flesh, shooting and laughing together) we decided to go for another round in autumn. So, get your cameras ready and don't book anything for October, because it will be shooting & laughing time again.

I'm sure most of you already know what a great photographer Athena is. If you still don't, shame on you! :) Go right away and discover that and trust me, you will be delighted! And absolutely check her long exposure work. Athena and I started to dabble in LE pretty much at the same time, independently one from the other, but from what I remember we must have bought our first ND filters more or less at the same time. That for a coincidence! And I think I'm not mistaken if I say we're pretty much the same addicted to it :)) But that's fun too. Nothing like screwing and unscrewing an ND filter, right? :)))

So dear Athena, I'm very glad I met you and can't wait to see you again. Most probably in Barcelona, but who knows, you might want to come visit me in Athens this summer, or anytime... Just know that my guest room will always be ready to welcome you :))

:) 3x + xo & big hug!!!

Berlin Photowalk 2012

You can talk with  +John Kosmopoulos   about just everything. From twisted philosophy concepts till the most silly things and feel that it's the same interesting and fun.
And you can rely on his judgment and on him as a person.  Such precious quality in a friend!
He is so at ease with words, it's outrageous! :)) Seems like he was born among them. I'm constantly amazed by the descriptions of his photos and I'm looking forward to them just as much as I'm looking forward  to the  photos themselves.
And he's a very warm and sharing person, never complains (big sign of intelligence in my book) and is also a great company for shooting (meaning among others that it happened quite a few times for us two to choose the same shooting angle without having talked about it and beforehand … what was again that thing about the great minds?? .... :))
His abstract architectural work is just superb (many of his shots are so good that when I watch  them I can't help but  think: "Man, I wish I had taken that myself!!"). And another big plus in his description... he lives in one of the coolest cities around, Toronto (when for a worldwide photowalk in Toronto, John??? :)

All in all, I was so very happy and pleased to meet John in Berlin and spend a few days shooting and laughing with him. And I can't wait to see him again. We're waiting for you in Athens, John!! Remember what you promised to me and  +Alex Bazeos!  ;D
