I host the photo of my burnt hands only to caution my viewers by showing the severity of steam burns.
As a safety measure, use a long ladle to stir the boiled milk in Microwave, before bringing it out. This would release the trapped super heated steam, if any, in the milk.
Never use Microwave to reheat milk to be given to Babies & Children. The logic being that we cannot really assess the temperature of milk by touching the surface of the container. There are many instances where the young ones suffered severe burns when inadvertently fed with over heated milk. Just imagine similar burns in their tender mouths.
Accidents happen in split seconds. One needs to be very careful even in kitchens.
I also share the following First Aid and Treatment taken for recovery. Hopefully it would be useful to others too
The Homeopathic Drug "Cantharis" liquid should be in stock in every house. Apply it immediately on the burns and take "Cantharis 200" consisting of 5-6 pills every 3 hours till the burning sensation reduces. If needed take it once every hour also but only 5-6 pills.
(In homeopathy, frequency of administration of the drug is important rather the quantity of drug. In anxiety, even if you take the entire bottle in one go, the effect is same as that of one dose only)
After the burning sensation reduces add 3 drops of "Calendula" liquid (mother tincture) to 5 drops of Coconut Oil and apply as a thin layer to the wounds, thrice a day. The wound should be kept dry to the extent possible. Avoid all contact with water to prevent infection.
Take "Calendula 30" thrice a day with a dosage of 5-6 pills.
Take "Calcarea Sulf - 6x" thrice a day which helps the Boils to Burst.
Continue Calendula and Calcarea Sulf till new skin is formed.
As an extra precautionary measure, I took an Antibiotic also from the Allopathy doctor to protect the wounds from infection
"DO NOT FORGET TO HAVE "CANTHARIS" AT HOME AS A FIRST AID. You would get enough time to get other medicines leisurely.
I thank the elderly person in my neighborhood Shri MV Hanumantha Rao for his instant medical assistance, his son Shri MV Sai Srinivas and daughter-in-law Smt. Sirisha who came to my rescue. Special thanks to Smt. Sirisha who helped me and fed me with her own hands for three days.
