I finally got a large piece of translucent Plexiglas to mess around with. This Crystal Skull Vodka bottle is lit from bellow and above with two strobes. I could not resist adding in a Wikipedia Goldfish for shock effect.Photo: TWO STROBES, ONE UNDER AND ONE HARD RIGHTPhoto: Photo: Photo: Photo: Photo: Photo: Photo: Photo: Photo: Photo: Photo: Photo: Photo: Photo: Photo: Photo: Photo: Photo: Photo: Photo: Photo: Photo: Photo: Photo: Photo: Photo: Photo: Photo: Photo: Photo: Photo: I was wondering how I would look with tattoos.Photo: Canon S95 image that was 100% edited on the Android touch screen with a few different apps.Photo: Photo: Photo: Photo: Photo: Photo: Slow shutter creates soft focus glow. #christmastree  Photo: Photo: Photo: Photo: Vancouver's BC Place stadium seen from south Fasle Creek at the Olympic Village. Canon S95 on a monopod and swung around wildly with a slow shutter. No PSPhoto: Shot using the black card technique. One time in focus and another out of focus. Looks like I bumped the camera for the second one and that created an off-registration look that enhances the  neon. Best black card shot out of 27 attempts  This black card thing ain't easy!Photo: Photo: Photo: Scubby's and Shaggy's old ride sits rusting on the street. TTL flash seems to work ok even with the vintage Zuiko lens.Photo: Shot with a vintage Olympus Zuiko 50mm f3.5 and 82mm of extension tubes. I calculate magnification at x1.64 with this much extension.  This easily out performs my Nikon 105mm f2.8 AF macro. Total cost of Zuiko 50mm and tubes... $100.00Photo: Photo: Photo: OK, I got lazy. This is two amusement rides shot at night. I waited an hour for the two to sync up so they were both on one frame but I realized it was extreemly random. So I comped the two best shots together. Easy since the camera was locked down on a tripod and didn't move. Each exposure was 25 sec. Shot with Zuiko 50mm f1.8 pancake lensPhoto: Boot City. Shooting on Main Street, Vancouver BC at night with the Zuiko 50mm f1.8 and EOC 5Dmkii.Photo: Neon sign shot while quickly zooming inward. Or was it outward? Can't remember. EOS 5Dmkii with 28-135mm 4.5/5.6 IS USM.Photo: Another bight color hipster bike. One more and I'll have a series. Not to happy with how this turned out. The amber street lights are the same tones as the bike and contrast is minimal. Again the bike is lit by store front florescent lights from a coffee house.Photo: Four shots comped together to make a mini-mock-panoramic. Trev Deeley Biker group. Hasting Street Burnaby BC. Riding this close together would be unsafe. The bikers were not this close. I made it look that way. Notice the building on the left is repeated to create the wide scene.Photo: Lucky was I when the Trev Deeley motor club came roaring by while I was out this weekend. Shot with a manual focus Zuiko 50mm f1.8 and Canon 5Dmkii, continuous shooting mode, auto ISO. Shot about 400 jpegs, this is the best one. I wanted the faces to not be recognizable (they are outlaw-bikers after all) and the sign on the fire station to be clear so I set the aperture for a deep DOF and the shutter at 160th to get a nice motion blur. Photo: Testing out the Canon EF 28-135mm f4.5/5.6 on a 5Dmkii body. This lens is really kind of impressive for a mid-range zoom and I can confirm Ken Rockwells review of it. Color and contrast are very good. It has the same "sharpness" through out its zoom range. And it focuses down to 1.5 feet! My only complaint is the barrel and pincushion distortion at the extreme ends of the zoom range but that's typical. A good choice for a budget all-around general-use zoom.
