Photo: PDX Known How To Photowalk - Attendees, please tag yourselves!

Once again, I'm humbled and beside myself at the turnout that we had for today's +Scott Kelby Worldwide Photo Walk. We had people drive down from Washington and up from as California. A couple o' people flew in from Tucson and even one from all the way out in Washington DC.

Huge props to the massive G+ contingent, too. We nabbed another smaller group shot that +Tamara Pruessner will post once she gets settled back home.

All in all, this was such a wonderful event. Thankfully, I got no reports of anyone being squished by a moving train or arrested by PDXPD. Remember, for those who registered for the walk, keep an eye out for submitting your favorite image from the event.

Next up - for everyone who attended, post your best image with the hashtag #WWPWPDX  to enter a contest for a chance to win a copy of Perfect Photo Suite 7 by +onOne Software!

Photo: These Are A Few Of My Favorite Things

The rain has been holding off, so I figured I'd show some of my visiting peeps some of my favorite places to shoot. 2nd & Clay has so much to offer and I thought it'd be a perfect place to wind down before kicking off this afternoon's +Scott Kelby Worldwide Photo Walk.

I had such a blast at Epcot yesterday with a group of good friends/photographers. We ate, drank, laughed, ran for cover from a downpour, and shot all up and down the park.

Once again, a special thanks to +Keith Barrett for being the generous and amiable person that he is. And thanks to +Kathy Porupski, +Gilmar Smith and +Barb Cochran for being such excellent company.
Photo: Lee & The Big Stoppers

I just stumbled onto this image while browsing my 2012 LR Catalog and immediately started cracking up. I knew I had to share it out but first a little backstory - just before Photoshop World Vegas was set to begin this past September, a bunch of us went out to the desert to shoot the Nelson ghost town. Afterwards, +Jacob Lucas, +Barb Cochran, +Kathy Porupski and I decided to continue our adventures and hustled out to Valley of Fire to shoot sunset.

Once we found our location to shoot sunset from (pictured below), we had some time to burn. Now, maybe it was the combination of heat exhaustion and driving around for hours with this crew, but we decided that the most logical use of our time would be to pose for our own album cover. But first we needed a band name. It didn't take long at all before we dubbed ourselves Lee and the Big Stoppers.

And so, you can expect our EP to hit record store shelves, iTunes and Google Play in early 2013. :)
Photo: On The Best Laid Plans

If there is one lesson that I've learned in my years attending Photoshop World, it's that you should never count on making solid plans. There are simply too many friends with even more plans being concocted that the best course of action is to simply go with the flow. You'll certainly fall into a current and be taken out to some sea.

Today is a sterling example. About the only certain thing I knew of was waking up to a text message from +RC Concepcion telling me to meet him at the hotel diner for breakfast. That turned into a caravan of 10 or so photographers barreling away from Vegas to the ghost town of Nelson. After four or so hours of shooting and baking in the 108 degree sun, +Jacob Lucas, +Barb Cochran, +Kathy Porupski and I were cruising out to Valley of Fire to shoot a gorgeous, cloud-filled sunset.

Did I have a remote clue that this is how my day would play out? Not at all. Did I miss out on meeting up with other people who were doing their own fun things - definitely. But that's Photoshop World and, even more so, that's Vegas, baby!

Let the good times roll!
