- The Bellagio, like every other casino in Vegas, has the sole purpose of extracting as much cash as it can from your bank account but unlike some, does it with a flair and panache that is unmatched. The Petrossian is a perfect spot for people watching and general consensus is the Slightly Sophisticated is possibly the best cocktail on the planet.

- The perfect hotel if you're too old for 24 / 7 partying. If you're over thirty and value some peace and quiet occasionally the Vdara is the place to stay in Vegas. Nestled between The Bellagio and Aria for your gambling, drinking and general sinful urges

- Beautiful museum. The location, architecture and roof of the building are almost as famous as the exhibits themselves. Pretty much a must see when you're visiting London

Appeal Excellent Facilities Very good Service Excellent - A beautiful, modern museum dedicated to London. Lots of space dedicated to what Londoners do best - hitting each other over the head with axes or shooting one another with duelling pistols, possibly not enough on the London writers and scientists and innovators but that's my nerdy bias. The coffee shop is a few steps above the typical museum cafe. Coffee is actually worth drinking!

- Absolute gem of a cinema, perfect for films you miss first time round, films you weren't sure of or some of those terrible films you really want to watch

Quality Excellent Appeal Excellent Service Excellent - I've been going to Foyles for almost three decades now - even with Amazon I pop in every so often to buy a book. The comp sci dept has the grumpiest staff ever. Part of the charm especially if you take it upon yourself to ask for directions :) I hope it survives as more than a relic of the physical book age in this time of digital books. A must go destination for any bibliophile

- The Wolseley oozes charm from a bygone era of London, ironic considering it launched in 2003, not 1923 - but somehow gets away with it. Luxurious building, an old car showroom apparently, and favourite haunt of minor celebs if you're into that sort of thing. Food is defiantly old fashioned. Think heavy souffles, steaks and tartares. Priced at the high end somewhat so the occasional treat rather than a regular haunt, unless you have an expense account. Worth it once in a while for the experience

Quality Excellent Facilities Excellent Service Excellent - Built by a theatre impresario, The Savoy just oozes with simmering flamboyancy. From the discreet, yet somehow very obvious photos of famous guests, past and present, to the mix of Edwardian and Art Deco rooms, The Savoy is just packing character. Service is everything you'd expect, maybe lacking a little of the traditional sophistication you find at Claridges but ultra efficient as the earpiece wearing staff communicate with military precision. Get a room at the back, riverside and you'll have some of the most spectacular views of London.

Quality Excellent Facilities Excellent Service Excellent - You don't get more luxurious than The Dorchester. The eye watering prices of the hotel and restaurant are well worth it for the big celebrations in life. Alain Ducasse @ Dorchester is exceptional, just resist the temptation to fill yourself up on the cheese goujeres. China Tang is a bit tacky, a celeb hangout from days long gone, still trying to cling onto past glories but is one of the few places in London where you can get suckling pig with jellyfish. Make sure your credit card is in good repair, then have the most sumptuous time ever.

Food Very good Decor Excellent Service Very good - The culinary equivalent of a typical Hollywood blockbuster. Memorable beginnings, forgot all about the middle, and redeemed at the end. Absolutely ingenious and tasty starters. Dull mains and very fun desserts. Lacks a bit of the magic you associate with the Heston Blumenthal name. Kept looking for things to freeze, explode and transform in front of me
