- Today I was invited to attend the YEE: Yelp's Day at ScotsFest and it was a blast! It was at the Queen Mary and as I am no stranger to events at the Queen Mary, I have never been to an event this big. The events that I have been to are in the parking lot area between The Reef restaurant and the Queen Mary. This event was right in front of the Queen Mary and part of it was inside. The Carnival Miracle was going to Ensenada and all those people were mixed in with event. I was wondering what all these people were doing with carry-on luggage lol! The parking lot was super crowded but I was able to get a spot relatively quickly. Basically right when I pulled in somebody was pulling out so score! I went to the special event's tent to go pick up my wristbands and where when we walked in we basically walked into a parade of bagpipes. It was really cool watching clan after clan of marching bands with bagpipes and drums. Those things have such an awesome sound and this is not something that I have ever seen so it made it that much more kick ass for me. We made our way around the whole thing and Abigail wanted to go check out the sheep hearding dogs. I have two cattle dogs myself and I have taken one of my cattle dogs to a sheep herding class a couple of times so it was cool watching this go down. We made our way over to the VIP tent which was included with our wristbands and we got one beer a piece which was cool because they were 10 bucks each. Around this time I got pretty hungry so we walked over to one of the food vendors and I was in the mood for some Bangers and Mash. My wife's Grandma is a Galloway so we started looking for the Galloway Clan. We learned that the Galloway's were a sept of the MacFarlane clan. After we did some family history research, we headed on over to the games. The games were pretty barbaric and I saw a lot of people chucking around some pretty heavy stuff and in some cases people where almost getting hit. I would describe this as controlled chaos. They had events like the hammer throw, some kind of shot-put rock throw thing and they were throwing weights for distance and weights over the bar. Very cool! After some time in the sun, we went aboard the Queen Mary to check out the Archery and dart competitions. This was easily the biggest dart contest that I have ever experienced but then again I am not much of a dart tournament kind of a guy so I guess that makes sense. We had an awesome day and I learned a lot! I want to thanks Ryan see for inviting me to this event and it is always nice to go to events in my hometown of Long Beach.
