Quality Excellent - This immaculate venue is everything you'd expect from one of London's most distinguished private members' clubs. As a one off, the tasting menu is a real treat - a range of outstanding dishes with perfectly matched wines. You'll be guided through the evening by the impeccably formal, but friendly, staff. Just don't get too used to dining in such other-worldy luxury.

- "Not An Afternoon Tea" is a brilliant alternative to the traditional sandwich and scone affair. Four desserts, interesting cocktails and views of the city over the Thames. Best to book, and if it's a nice day ask for a table outside.

- The food is good (it ought to be, for the price), but the experience is underwhelming. Staff are attentive, but mechanical. As a large group, our pre-ordered (at the restaurant's insistence) courses were served on large sharing plates. But cutting and sharing out the 4 steaks between the 6 who had ordered them could have been made a little easier with some forward thinking in the kitchen. For restaurant that has become something of an icon, expect better.

Food Very good Decor Good Service Good - The bar downstairs does a great value limited menu (have the burger with shortrib and triple cooked chips), which means you've got more cash to spend on the cocktails.
