- I'll be honest, I expected to love this place like whoa. I own more books than is good for me, and it's rare for me to leave a bookstore empty-handed. I've done it both times that I visited Strand. Although the staff try to be helpful, the books are simply too disorganized to find what you're looking for. Even if you come with a particular book in mind, and even if the website and the staff computer says the book is in stock, you probably still won't be able to find it. The used paperbacks are stored 2-deep in horizontal tubs, making it hard to browse. Maybe if you really want to spend all day flipping through books at random, this could be a good place to shop, but that's a bit much, even for me. I'll stick to the smaller used book stores, and sad to say, Amazon.

- For an east coast ski resort, this place is huge. Long runs and good terrain for a beginner to intermediate snowboarder. Not very expensive either, and most area hotels sell discounted lift tickets. On the downside, it's very icy. They're making snow as hard as they can, but there's only so much you can expect from the east coast.

Appeal Excellent Facilities Excellent Service Excellent - Bring a picnic or a bicycle and spend the whole afternoon. This is an astonishingly beautiful sculpture garden with neat surprises around every corner.

Food Very good Decor Good Service Very good - The mac and cheese spring rolls were pretty good and the Fashionista cocktail was so good I had two. But otherwise, a little greasy and not a lot of vegetarian options.

- There used to be a dish here called "Smoked Duck with Asian Greens", but now it's called something like "Beijing-style smoked tofu." The name doesn't matter. Eat this.

- I came here for brunch, and enjoyed great french toast and a Venetian Spritz while sitting out in the back garden. We were 6 people, so we got there right as they were opening and had no trouble getting a table, but it got fuller as we sat. The service was a little lackluster, but I don't need to be best friends with the waiter. He brought my correct order and refilled my coffee, so we're cool.
