Trump has boasted he's "a tariff man"..

All credit for farmers going bankrupt because of Tariffs therefore goes to Trump..
Don't expect "the problem to go away" as the article says, before Trump does.

From the article below:

Over the last 12 months ending in June, 84 farms have declared bankruptcy in Wisconsin, Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota and Montana, more than doubling the number of bankruptcies over the same stretch in 2013/2014, according to the Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis.

...Some farm exports actually spiked in the second quarter in the race to beat the implementation of China's retaliatory tariffs.
....
Analysts told the AP that many farmers were already producing beyond demand before the trade war with China escalated. Trump's tariffs have exacerbated what was already a looming problem.

“Grain farmers have had low prices for the past three years but high yields have helped them through. We’re just waiting for a turnaround," said Mark Miedtke, the president of Citizens State Bank in Hayfield. "We’re waiting for the tariff problem to go away.”

Now that Trump has given a massive tax break to the wealthiest 2% of Americans, he's denying the people who keep the government running a pay rise to maintain their standard of living.

The hypocrite said in his letter: '“We must maintain efforts to put our Nation on a fiscally sustainable course, and Federal agency budgets cannot sustain such increases,” Trump said in the letter. “Accordingly, I have determined that it is appropriate to exercise my authority to set alternative across-the-board and locality pay adjustments for 2019.”"

In April, the Federal Salary Council reported that the overall salaries of federal workers lags the salaries of similar workers in the private sector by about 32%.

Trump promised while campaigning, to surround himself with "the best people". Now as the second year of his presidency comes to a close, the depth of that lie continues to be exposed.
There is no improvement or change in Trump's methods.

From the article linked at the bottom of this OP:

Zinke’s exit is not surprising: the former congressman was already under investigation by the Justice Department, and likely to face additional scrutiny and probes as Democrats take over the House of Representatives in January. As CNN previously reported, the Interior inspector general had opened multiple inquiries into allegations that Zinke used his office for personal gain, including using tax-payer money to fund his family’s travel expenses and Zinke’s personal dealings with Halliburton Chairman David Lesar regarding a land development deal in Zinke’s hometown of Whitefish, Montana.

As Zinke exits, Trump continues to appoint people with clear antipathy to the roles they are given, as another man with an obvious conflict of interest steps into the role.
https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2018/dec/16/david-bernhardt-ryan-zinke-lobbyist-interior-department

From the second article in the link above:

Bernhardt was a fossil fuels and water industry lobbyist at the law firm Brownstein Hyatt Farber Schreck before he joined the Trump administration. He was previously the chief lawyer at the interior department under the George W Bush administration .

In an ethics pledge, Bernhardt said he would wait until August 2019 to have certain interactions with his former firm and some major oil and gas companies he represented. But many of the industry-friendly changes he has ushered in as the No 2 official were on the wishlists of the companies who employed him.

“It’s not so much who has he helped. It’s who hasn’t he helped in industry so far,” said Bobby McEnaney, who works on western US energy issues for the Natural Resources Defense Council.

“The notion that he could extricate himself from benefiting his former clients is impossible.”

The Trouble With Trump's New Africa Strategy

It is no secret that the Chinese aid budget has skyrocketed in the past decade. It has been revealed that Chinese spending on development cooperation between 2000 and 2014 could almost rival that of the #UnitedStates, although most Chinese development funds were provided in the form of loans and, strictly speaking, aid to its developing partners remained modest.

#China’s booming aid has raised global attention and the country has been tagged with terms like 'neocolonialist' and 'rogue donor.' Despite these negative images, Chinese aid might be not as evil as often assumed. A number of rigorous studies - which were notably absent in #MikePence and #JohnBolton’s accusations - have demonstrated that Chinese aid is fairly positive in facilitating the development of recipient nations. If the United States genuinely wants to help #Africa prosper, as claimed by Bolton, it should engage with other donors at play, including China. In the aid realm, no single actor can do everything, must less do everything perfectly.
