Fall Colors

I took this photo a year ago while visiting Horseshoe Lake, WA. This area is close to the Enchantments with fewer people.

Watch Shauna Coxsey and Leah Crane Train and Boulder in California

Shauna Coxsey and Leah Crane train hard for the World Cup but keep their intense sessions lighthearted, and manage to fit in a day at Joshua Tree.

I am a trail sweep for this hike, Saturday. There will be activities at park headquarters as well:

The Missing Arm
October 21, 2017 (6:30 PM – 9:00 PM)
Big Basin Redwoods State Park, Headquarters

A slightly spooky walk in the forest!

Join us on a 1-hour, 1/2-mile, silly and slightly haunting night hike through the deep, dark forest and hear the haunted tale of Big Basin’s last lumber mill owner and his disastrous encounter with a grizzly bear!
Registration starts at 6:30 p.m. Tours leave every 15 minutes.

This story is in the spirit of ghost stories told around a campfire, but it’s not too spooky for children. Day use visitors must pay the $10.00 parking fee. There is no charge for the tour.

Climbing the Void

Jason and I talked about climbing the Owl Roof but ended up on this climb instead, The Void, Yosemite. This was a Pumper with a lot of touch-and-go on small dime edge holds.

Cadillac Mountain, Baxter State Park and the A.T.

What is not to love about Maine? First to view sunrise, best lobtah, craggy coastlines, biking along old carriage roads, hiking in Acadia National Park, A.T. in Baxter State Park and loving Mt. Katahdin, moose and lighthouses. At least once in your lifetime, visit this beautiful state. Swim, hike, climb, sail, paint, breathe and eat fresh seafood.

Moab Utah, camping and hiking at the Colorado River with treks to The Arches, Canyonlands, Mesa Verde, Capital Reef. Gorgeous scenery and awesome hikes. Deep canyons, rivers, lakes, spectacular adventures. Slick rock hiking offered challenges, if you go get out early in the day the sun and heat are killer. My return trip spring 2018 will tackle Bryce, Zion, and Hells Revenge. May all your adventures be outdoors. In every walk in nature, one receives more than he seeks.
