The Rendevous & Town Bridge in Weymouth
Here's a shot of the Rendevous nightclub and Town Bridge area taken from the other side of Weymouth Harbour last night. It's just been announced in tonight's local paper "A Weymouth bar has been shortlisted for a top industry accolade as the best live entertainment pub in Britain. The Rendezvous has battled through two rigorous rounds of judging to secure a place in the final round of the national Great British Pub Awards." Good luck.

Mixing up the Themes...
For #SacredSunday and also for +Johnny Wills #JoinInDaily Theme

Knowlton Church and 'Earthworks', well that's what it's called on the map. The earthworks actually being a neolithic henge, dating back over 4000 years. So, probably won't be too many submissions to the daily theme, which today is 'places of worship', with quite as much history as this.

The church itself dates from Norman times, so is pretty close to a thousand years old, but was remodelled in the 14th century. The demise of the nearby village of Knowlton due to the Black Death, caused church attendance to collapse, the roof collapse in the mid 19th Century meant that church was abandoned to it's fate and services were moved elsewhere.

You can now also take a walk around the church and rings using Google StreetView: https://goo.gl/maps/6QZfsDhCVtJ2

Yup, I did share a different pic of this very recently, in my #DorsetPhotos collection, but, today's daily theme just screamed at me to drag out another of this fascinating place.

A Red Squirrel
A red squirrel on one of the islands in Poole Harbour in Dorset. In the UK native red squirrels have greatly decreased in numbers as a result of competition from introduced North American Grey squirrels. In Dorset there are just a few left on small islands that grey squirrels haven't been able to swim across to yet.

Baby Tufted Ducklings
A female tufted duck and her ducklings at Lodmoor in Weymouth, Dorset. Tufted ducks are reasonably common with an estimated 16,000 pairs breeding in the UK annually. They are slightly smaller than mallards but easy to tell apart because even when small baby tufted ducks adopt the habit of diving down under the water frequently.
