So excited to share the Massachusetts School Library Study: Equity and Access for Students of the Commonwealth! This study builds upon the over 60 previous school library impact studies and provides empirical evidence that students face inequitable access to the curriculum, instruction, and resources available from a licensed school librarian and adequately funded school library.

5th and 6th grade students from Maple Ridge and East Elementaries have been competing in a Novel Engineering Challenge during their weekly class in the library media center over this past quarter. During this challenge, students engaged in engineering design through the Young Hoosier nominated book, Little Red Gliding Hood by Tara Lazar. Their task was to identify a problem that one of the characters faced in the story and through collaboration, critical thinking, and creativity, design a solution to that problem. Now it is time to decide the overall winner! Please submit your vote at tinyurl.com/littleredglidinghood.
