Fun Reading Strategy- Cut a square out of the center of a fly swatter.  Have children look for a letter, letter pattern or word in a big book, pocket chart or on a white board.  When they find it they swat it.  Be creative!  Use different colors for different word patterns or types of words: verbs, nouns, or individual letters

Hello! If your kid likes videogames, this downloadable is a PDF with hand-drawn illustrations of items from popular Nintendo games like Super Mario Bros, Pokemon, Mario Kart, Donkey Kong, etc. that can be used in different kinds of activities in the classroom (ideas included)

As a craftsman gamer, I enjoy ‪‎Nintendo‬ DIY and I hope my kids will too… so I made these 12 hand-drawn illustrations of items from popular games like Super Mario Bros, Pokemon, Mario Kart, Donkey Kong, etc. that can be used in different kinds of DIY games (click for ideas).

I include the digitally colored version of them, as well as the outlined version (coloring pages) so you can choose your own colors and make even more items. For example, use pink for the Yoshi Egg to make a Birdo Egg 🤓

I hope you and your kids like them. I'd love to read your comments here, gracias!

Well, there’s a lot less recess going on these days due to America’s mission to upgrade test scores. Problem is; the strategy isn’t working. While test …

Hi all, I'm Chris, 20+ K-12 teacher, taking a year sabbatical to investigate what I think are some of the most important topics surrounding education. Later today I'm hosting a podcast session on Boal's participatory theater methods, all invited...

Awaking voice and choice, unpacking problems, zooming from individual metacognition (cops in the head), to soft and hard focused awareness of other, to awareness of community as "learning system", this Google Hangout today engages with author Toby Emert on the role of participatory theater in the 21st century classroom.

I believe this approach to awakening students to the complexities of conflict could be a critical component in the future of education. Come join!
