"The thing about science is, it’s pretty universal."
Science activist, Executive Director of the Atlanta Science Tavern, and co-organizer of the Atlanta March for Science, Marc Merlin sat down with The Scientist to discuss organizing science aficionados and nonpartisan science.

Here is the wrap-up video from the leaders at the working meeting last night. Big thanks to all 200+ people who showed up ready to work and organize! A special thanks to Marc Merlin for helping us collect and organize so many people into at least 17 distinct working groups with goals and leaders! We have formed a coordinating committee to pull everything together and hold a democratic election of executive leaders (more on that soon). Everyone who missed it but would like to volunteer please visit: http://marchforscienceatlanta.org

The March for Science champions publicly funded and publicly communicated science as a pillar of human freedom and prosperity.
We unite as a diverse, nonpartisan group to call for science that upholds the common good, and for political leaders and policymakers to enact evidence-based policies in the public interest.
