I have a question. What made you like Ultear in the first place?

Alright, I'll take everything in account to try explaining what's being misinterpreted lol. Like a mini-respect thread for our lady Tear.

First, I'll go over what Ultear had to get done before engaging in a fight with Gray. Right, to start, Ultear went out to explore and had the job to find Zeref and bring him back. That, however, wasn't done without exerting power and seriousness. She had to beat Zeref, while he was weakened, but still a threat. Evident in the fact that she was panting, thus had problems knocking out Zeref. After doing so, she comes across Natsu and also has to use her magic to fulfill her duty, clearly not being as serious as she was vs. Zeref. Gray on the other hand had to fight Zoldeo only, who actually uses a brand of Lost Magic which is Human Subordination Magic, which in turn dampens the Magic and fighting prowess of humans around him. Still have to figure out why people use that to determine Gray's strength but alright, I'll pass on that.

Secondly, her not reacting to Gray's punch is barely even a downgrade, heck I'd compliment her for standing right back up without showing a sign of injury. As you can see in the chapter, she was announcing her title as the leader of the kin, thinking Gray would back off/act scared, to which he did neither, surprising her and landing one blow. Afterwards she kept smoking his ass until a certain attack came up. That being an ice attack infused with blood, Ultear, not knowing what he was intending to do, reacted like she would usually do to his ice attacks, when finding out her magic didn't work, it was a bit too late to do anything.

Thirdly, her attack power isn't based on huge DC like Azuma and Zancrow. Contrary to popular belief since most folk think strength is all you need, her attacks are quick-paced and very crafty, continuously bombarding the opponent while her hax also allows her to absorb attacks and bring back/forward the time of said attacks. Plants? Now only little sprouts. Fire? Eventually fire goes out, and there's literally nothing left.

And finally, but definitely not the least. Ultear was going to win if it wasn't for her guilt acting up, she would have kept overpowering Gray and in the end complete her task. I bet people would start thinking otherwise if that were the case.
