Man do I have a lot of golf balls to review! I may do another “HOG Golf Ball Week” soon to cover them all. The latest in large and growing golf ball review queue is the TaylorMade Project (a). TaylorMade Project (a) Golf Ball. I've been hearing about these TaylorMade Project (a) golf balls.
Today is the par-3 tournament day at the Masters Tournament. Tiger Woods will be playing this time around, which is not his usual method of operation. The par-3 tournament has been going since 1960. The par-3 is a fun tournament where players interact closely with fans.
Go figure , last day that I could play before I had to go back to Rochester, My shin splints GONE- Finally received my swing that I seem to have left in the cousin on the right side of the couch, (UPS to me!!!) What a round and I could have done even better if you can see. All the X's should have been birdies!!!! next time!!!!
Continuing the theme of course management, I will now touch on the topic of managing your distance. Many of the greatest players will agree with me when I say that managing how far you hit your clubs is one of the most import...
I've been gaming the new Score Band Pulse golf laser rangefinder for about 10 golf rounds now. You can surely enjoy the rest of my review below, but I'll start with saying the Pulse is by far the best value in golf laser rangefinders by a long shot (pun intended).
One of the biggest lessons I can pass down to someone learning golf, or anything, from my experiences as a player is this – patience. Although not one of the key factors in learning, it certainly helps. This is just a quick a...
If I would have gotten this book a couple of days earlier it might have saved me the $2.00 I lost in my Sunday nassau. I hate giving strokes to higher handicappers! Next on the book list is Gary Player's book, Don't Choke: A Champion's Guide to Winning Under Pressure .
Lahinch has had outstanding designers from its inception through to modern times; Old Tom Morris, Alister MacKenzie and Martin Hawtree. In 1894 Old Tom Morris was commissioned to make full use of the natural terrain, especially the giant sand dunes at Lahinch. Old Tom believed that Lahinch was the finest natural course that he had seen. Two of Morris’s creations were the famous Klondyke (4th) & Dell (5th) holes, these still remain today. They continue to be the most memorable talking points for first time visitors to Lahinch and are seen locally as fitting tributes to the great Scotsman. In 1927 the great golf architect Dr. Alister MacKenzie was invited to submit a design for a new layout. The re-design work took one year to complete and featured undulating triple tiered greens. MacKenzie was pleased with his work and said: “Lahinch will make the finest and most popular course that I, or I believe anyone else, has ever constructed”. After Lahinch, MacKenzie went on to design among others; Augusta National, Cypress Point and Royal Melbourne.
During my physical examination, my doctor asked me about my physical activity level.
I described a typical day, “Well, yesterday afternoon, I took a five hour walk about 7 miles through some pretty rough terrain. I waded along the edge of a lake. I pushed my way through brambles. I don't normally reshare posts which are all over the place, or likely to be but had to on this one. Yes, golfers are crazy and this video of some guy golfing on icebergs in Lake Michigan is further proof. But take a CLOSE LOOK at the footage in this video. 95% of this is filmed by a drone.
Well, I've seen it all now. This is an amazing video of a golfer who just might be a little more crazy than me, which is saying quite a bit. No comments necessary on that. I found this video on my Facebook feed this morning, courtesy of Golf Australia.
I usually reserve golf press releases for the Hooked On Golf Blog sister site HogWire.biz. I get so many press releases submitted it is quite stunning. I decided to build the HOGWire site just as a golf newswire. That said, I have a special place in my golf heart for Ben Hogan irons.
