Some interesting development going on here. Even if it's not a daily driver, the scripting engine alone will probably make it useful for the odd print here and there.

Why doesn't Slic3r implement a regular raster pattern for the top of support structures? I get that a concentric fill pattern on top of support makes sense when there are gradual slopes. But when there are large, flat, horizontal overhangs, the top of the support structure just doesn't stay flat when it gets concentrically filled. It ends up sagging or curling and making a huge mess.

The two pictures I have uploaded show the sparse support and then the next layer includes a solid support interface. Think about how much of this solid interface is not supported by the structure below.

KISSlicer has this down pretty well and it works for me but I'd like to have Slic3r available too.

Comparison of perimeter crossing travel moves (with avoid crossing perimeters checked). The first is Cura (v3), and the last is Slic3r PE (v1.40). Neither is perfect in limiting perimeter crosses on the interior cavity of my part, but Cura is clearly better for prevention of stringing in interior cavities. The middle one shows Slic3r in vase mode where the only perimeter crosses are in the base layers.

Today thanks to open source software and resources on internet is became easy to design and make what you want to make, thanks to the 3D printing. I posted a video where I show you my first modified model after just a week as a owner of a 3D printer (using Blender and Cura).

I'm a big proponent of Simplify3D, but they're clearly blame-shifting for something that +Joel Telling +3D Printing Nerd was able to demonstrate was not due to the user's hardware or configuration. The misbehavior seems to be linked to user credentials.
