Ho Ho Ho!
You know what I'm about to write now right?
XOSP Nougat is finally here!!
Many of you have been waiting for it, and now at least is finally here for Christmas.
XOSP Nougat builds are already rolling out on the XOSP Site for the selected Official Devices:
So go out there and grab your build, together with the new XOSPApps ;)#Unofficial
(Sources are still being pushed, refresh platform_manifest. You will know when they're ready) Don't worry guys, sources are fully available so the ROM now is again fully Open Sourced. The Maintainers and who ever is willing to build the ROM now he's able to do that.
Just a mention to be done: When compiling use the brunch command in the following way : brunch $Device_Name -jNumber_of_threads example: brunch Z00A -j8
Don't try to use make because you will end up with errors before even starting the compilation (YOU'VE BEEN WARNED).#ROM
About the Translations, don't worry I will make on Monday maybe a post about this. The only thing you guys need to know is that with XOSP Nougat I'll use Crowdin as Translations System, so once Crowdin is operative who ever wants to give a hand with the various translations would be very much appreciate.#Issues
There are two minor issues now in the ROM which couldn't be fixed in time for the release or for other difficulties. You can follow up the issues tracker right here:
Features (You can find the list in the same link I posted for the issues),I know the ROM doesn't have many features now included, and I also don't want to hear things like, why this feature is not included; You had all this time to work on the ROM, why you didn't added also this feature?. NO, I don't want to hear any of these things, I'm working alone on almost eveything so have a bit of patience cause the features will come as I did it also for MM.#Weeklies
Yes, another discussion is this one. I'm not going to start the Weeklies for now as I'm still waiting for two other devices to get Official (angler and kenzo), so I was thinking to start the Weeklies by January (First days). By then XOSPDelta will also be fully prepared so there's no rush doing this right now.
# RIP CM
Yeah, I read about it, and it really hurts me to see this. About what will happen I don't know, LineageOS is about to take CyanogenMod Place but there will still be much work to be done and right or wrong those guys will not have the same resources as they did in the past years with Good servers and Awesome paid devs, unless they got founded somehow. The other options would be to switch directly to AOSP and to not depend anymore by anyone, but that would mean less support and fewer devices. So yeah quite a sh*t for now. Will keep you updated about this matter.#New
Okay, this is a common and very dicussed matter and many were asking me about it. I'll post a form as I did back on MM. That form will include a couple of steps and requirements in order to apply for the Official Tag. It's not easy to get Official as there are many things between and I also don't want in my team people with almost no experience so if you want to get in you gotta prove it to me.
Just to remind what are the advantages of having a Device Officialized by us: Delta updates,Weekly updates (That means each week the server will make compilations for each official device),Official tag and Full support by the team in case of bugs or other issues.
The form will be posted in the first days of January in order to allow the other maintainers to make their builds and pubblish their threads on XDA.
Other than that, I'm wishing a Merry Christmas to all of you and your families and friends. Hope you guys had a good year (more or less) and let's enjoy now these lasts moments of 2016 together with the ones we care the most.
Don't forget to flash XOSP once is available for your device and to share your thoughts and what do you think about the new Nougat Style :)
You will for sure hear from me again before the end of the year (Not just for the translations).
Enjoy guys!#KeepItMinimal #MerryXOSPMas #XOSP #Nougat
