My Blackwood setting guide for Savage Worlds is pretty much done! The final PDF has been approved, so now it's just a matter of getting print-ready proofs and sending everything out to backers.

When I set up my KS, I misunderstood the way DTRPG handles at-cost POD codes. Long story short, I thought I could provide one code to all my backers, then my backers could use that one code to get whatever format they want: softcover or hardcover. Turns out I need separate codes for each format.

I've already sent backer surveys out (back in June) and I find I need to get more info from the backers. If you were a backer, how would you prefer to be asked for this info? Would you be comfortable filling out a Google Form?

Several of you had expressed interest in picking up Powerchords once it became available to the public.

It's available now. Here is a convenient (affiliate) link.

Numenera 2: It Takes a Village We Need More Money!

The original Numenera, like much of Monte Cook's work, left me pretty cold, and so far I don't see anything in the revision that changes my opinion. But I know folks who do like the game, and perhaps this will be of interest to them?

I only just heard about this campaign today. I've been very impressed with all of the Fria Ligan games that have made it to English-language publication, and as a fantasy game this one is likely to make it to my table.

I find myself in the unusual and somewhat ungrateful position of hoping the campaign reaches the SEK 400K stretch goal (upgrade the core books to hardcover) but falls short of the SEK 800K stretch goal (embossed faux-leather covers for the books), as I'd prefer a plain hardcover. (The SEK 1,000K goal, custom dice from Q-Workshop, would also be no great loss, since I find their dice needlessly difficult to read.)

HOW ABOUT CREATING A KICKSTARTER, ALL IN CAPS, WITH JUST THREE DOTS AND NO OTHER PUNCTUATION THAN SOME COMMATA, IT IS FOR SURE A GREAT IDEA TO GET YOUR NOVEL FINANCED, JUST WRITE THREE SENTENCES THAT WOULD MAKE MARK TWAIN REDIRECT HIS MOCKING OF GERMAN THOUGH TO BE FAIR TWO OUT OF THREE SENTENCES AND THE REWARDS AIN'T ALL CAPS.

My... I had a headache deciphering this thing. Like whether or not it was a splat or just a book. Apparently it's just a book and hence doesn't qualify for my collection... phew.

This annoys me to no end. Funded in February of 2015. and Max Lugavere began a self promotion tour catalogued in the updates. Radio silence between last December and April. Then a few "nearly there updates" now a request for more money.

From the update:

"Even though the movie is currently in great shape, there are 3 things we need to accomplish before you get to see it.

1. We need to raise more money. Why? See 2. and 3.

2. We need to get graphics made. The film is not going to be very graphics heavy, but we do have a few places where we need some simple animation to articulate scientific ideas and data trends in a way that doesn't put an audience to sleep. Luckily, we have just the right team on board to do that. We just need to pay them (refer to point 1.).

3. We need to score the film. Right now, the film is composed with beautiful music—beautiful stock music that we don't own. To make our film stand out, we need to hire a composer. This will not be very expensive, but it will not be free either."

On point three, I've never hired a composer to score a movie, but I don't think "not very expensive" sounds like a realistic assessment of the situation.

Submitted sans snark. Cause really, this one writes itself.

Hot on the heels of providing the Powerchords PDF, +Satyros Phil Brucato has posted a "What Happened?" update to Kickstarter.

Linked below is Part One of (apparently) three. As I'm posting this, only the first two are currently live.

Have you ever seen a campaign based off another campaign that was successful, and you want to back it... but think that maybe you shouldn't?

SketchWallet was a great idea, other than the fact that I didn't really need a wallet. But I still love it.

SketchPlanner seems to be the perfect combination of the two... except the campaign is horrendous. Do I ignore my instincts in favor of a cool idea?

Seems cool but hard to keep track of gameplay. How excited should I get?
