Testing Tinkle Typography. Iconics applied to a rather <cough> delicate issue...

Just ran across this. Rather dead on example of the subject I think.

Google drops the hammer on Look and Feel control on the newer platforms. I think it is smart of Google to do this. I would credit their willingness on the phone front to yield to the vendors UI whims as part of their success in market dominance to date. This is a new frontier though and they can afford to throw some weight around.

Personally I've been in favor of Google shifting Nexus from physical devices to a class of devices. i.e. setup a minimum level of hardware features and mandate a stock UI/OS build and you gain the right to brand your phone as a Nexus class device. Google could even dangle more carrots out there for said devices in terns of features that would not be open to the non Nexus variants.

While chatting iconography, a bit more on everyones (newish) favorite menu icon. I think it's humorous that it maps to Chinese trigram for 'heaven'.

Just ran across this as I was munching on a snack I grabbed from an indian grocery. As a bit of a spoiler this very distinctive e is stands for 'estimated' with some rather strict bounds dictated by the EU as to its bounds on tolerance.

The notion of having a little symbol with this much meaning limited to packaging is a shame. I would be nice to be able to use it in technical documents and diagrams as well. :D

Fluid UI is an HTML5 based screen design tool for mobile screens. Interesting concept, not sure if I'm sold on it though. Has anyone else played with this?
