How do you think accommodations for students with disabilities change in one to one school systems?
"No, you can't do that. The IEP says that they must be tested in small groups with a teacher." The teacher who said that looked at me in frustration. "I know it would work but, the IEP is law." Technology is changing the face...

How are you training educators for transformation?
I have been working with secondary teachers this week. As we were discussing technology integration, some explained that they just came from boot camp. A Google boot camp! I nodded, and we continued but in the back of my mind...

It's time to think about how I ask students to take notes.
When I first learned about Cornell notes, it was love at first sight. I loved them so much that I decided to change all the notes in my class to Cornell notes. I drew many vertical lines on my chalkboard, created SMART Notebo...

Recording sound AND reading sheet music at the same time on iPad?  I'm interested in the opinions of this group on what tool might let our vocal music students record themselves singing, while they have PDF of the sheet music open in another app.  The audio file needs to be able to be eventually put in Google Drive.

We tried Notability with a recording, but the recording gets sent as a zipped file that won't open in google drive.

I thought at one time I had audio recording app that would continue recording as long as the app was running in the background and then the PDF could be opened to be viewed while the student recorded himself.  Any suggestions?

Reading and recording is possible in "forScore". A better recording-app is "AudioShare" because you can define the mic input level. "forScore" has a lot of other features. Add notes, metronom, tuner etc.

I have been thinking this summer about the work we do together with teachers, wondering what metaphor we can adequately use to describe it. Recently, I have written about the boot camp metaphor. Another metaphor I have repeat...

Hello All!
First, thank you for sharing great info on this community:-) I'm working with some teachers with students who are podcasting. They are asking for recommendations on microphones to use with iPads?
Thanks in advance!

Hey fellow iPad edu-thusiasts. I am very proud to announce that after many months in development, our blogging service Easyblog.org is very close to launch. We are currently looking for testers to help us iron out the last bugs by using it in as many ways as you can dream of. It is currently only iPad based, but browser version on the way. It is very similar to our current apps Easy Blogger Jr and Easy Blog Jr, the essential difference being that Easyblog.org also includes a hosting service. The app will be free and +/-$12 a year for a class blog with individual student blogs. It can be used in both 1:1 and 1:X environments including scenarios where classes share iPad carts
Please watch our video and leave a comment here if you want to try it out and I will get back to you. You can also register at easyblog.org
