The pressure sensor on the TLPHnodeV2 is light sensitive and needs a cover. I’m not ready to commit to a full enclosure, so I designed a simpler cover for board bring-up and evaluation. The cover was designed using FreeCAD and is being printed at Shapeways.

Using a small program and an FTDI based serial port adapter I can now view the bootloader messages from ESP-8266s.

The sensor nodes I've been working on need an MQTT Broker. I wrote up what I hope are easy to follow instructions to get a Mosquitto MQTT broker running on Ubuntu and configured to work wit the sensor nodes.

Information on my ESP-8266 based, battery powered, temperature and sensor node. Both the software and the hardware are open.

I added 3d models, and updated the PCB footprints, for the ESP-12 and ESP-07v2 modules in the KiCAD ESP-8266 library at Github https://github.com/jdunmire/kicad-ESP8266.

They haven't be tried in tested in the real-world, so use with caution!
