Tips To Help With Cutting (ill update them when I find more, but until then stay perfect my broken army)
ICING- rub ice over the place where you want to cut until it is numb. This will defeat the purpose of the cutting (pain) making you less likely to do it. don't keep it on for too long or you may have bruising or dark spots.
GROUNDING - this only works if you are cutting out of like anger/frustration and not in your right frame of mind. find 5 things in the room that you can touch, four that you can see, three that you can hear, two that you can smell, and one that you can taste. This calms a person down and relieves stress by making you feel more in control of whatever situation you are in.
SNAPPING- I recommend this for people who are trying to stop cutting, who haven't cut in a while, or who are considering cutting. take a rubber band and snap it across you arm. you still get the pain but less of a permanent scar is left, this is sort of a transitioning technique.
THE BUTTERFLY EFFECT- originally it was a butterfly but you an draw anything, a name, a band symbol, just something important to you. draw it over the place that you usually cut. your subconscious is less likely to cut because you feel that you are breaking the bond between you and that thing.
TAPING- put duct tape over the place that you want to cut. layer it thick enough so that it deters a blade, but don't make it to tight, you might cut off you circulation.
