Hey everyone!
Great job on the art-test submissions, overall I was really impressed with the character concepts and technical skills. I am looking forward to this next semester!

Please review the class roster (attached), if you find your name then please sign up for the class (VTD 404 section 5). Your hold for the class should be removed, if you have any problems, please contact me via email (rbird@uidaho.edu).

Here are some things you must have for this class...
1. usb tablet
2. Zbrush
3. Photoshop

If you do not have the hardware/software software required please let me know ASAP so we can get the alternates signed up for the course.

Thanks!
Rayce

Rayce, serious question:

The font you're using for these is wrong. Magic the Gathering text boxes use MPlandin as a font wherase you're using a default MtG font (Gaudy Medieval?) for the entire thing.

Should we correct this?

Here's an extremely useful and extensive guide to Photoshop painting and color theory I've been studying recently. If you're ever stuck on something, odds are an explanation is somewhere in here.

Here is a link to the .PSD template for the Magic Card. You'll need to download it and place your image inside the appropriate spot. There are also some text examples in there, but you may need to download some fonts in order for it to work correctly.

Here is the Art Test for next years Advanced Character Design course.

You will be submitting 2 files in total
1. Digital painting of your character
2. Magic character card (painting included)

Keep in mind...
You must have Zbrush and Photoshop in order to take this course. So please only take this test if you plan on getting these programs in the near future.
