Statistic of the number of panographers (people) with the number of panoramas. It displays that the variety of panographers is high and mostly with people contributing 1 to 11 panoramas, but there is quite a number of returning contributors with the occasional contributions to events and some regular contributors joining to every event since starting contributing.

The Word Wide Panorama is conservative with the design, but it serves. During the past decade 360° surround photography players were with its »rise« like QTVR, decent,…, another rise like Flash Player, appearance of html5… we are following the trends but the »core« remains: the author, the picked theme as event, geo-located and time set panoramas, caption or essay about the panorama (that is what we highly recommend – panorama is only »the half of the story«), the list of equipment… even now »only« in a time of decade it is interesting to check the equipment used in »that time«.
Did you know that you can upload a kml file with the all panoramas contributed so far and crawl over the »virtual globe« of Google Earth service: http://worldwidepanorama.org/worldwidepanorama/wwp_all/index.html

Yes, time for changes of design and implementation of new ideas The WWP Team »brainstormed« in past years… but we are conservative… right? The slow way is sometimes the longest path…

Statistic of The World Wide Panorama: March 2004-December 2013.
»The World Wide Panorama« ( http://worldwidepanorama.org/ ).
"Meet" 369 panographers from the "Best of 2006" event: http://worldwidepanorama.org/.../index_thumbnails/index.html ... it was the most popular one. Check their photographic equipment and "crawl" into captions or even essays with the explanation about their panorama.

On March 20th 2004 started the Word Wide Panorama  (http://worldwidepanorama.org/worldwidepanorama/wwp/practical/NextEvent.html ) and has become an ongoing series of events. The next March, “a decade” later, in the year 2014 is going to be ten years of the gathering together with the panoramas all over the World.
There are over 1000 panographers participating thousands of panoramas,…join use with the next “Decade” event … or simply enjoy the “history” and timeline of panoramas during past ten years: http://worldwidepanorama.org/worldwidepanorama/wwp_all/nwl_all_of_wwp.kml

Still five (5) days for a photography of WWP mortality event and twelve (12) days for editing and upload to preparation server (http://contribute.worldwidepanorama.org/gen/). Forest and Culture events are also open for your upload.
No ideas? Here is what I did for the WWP event… it might be idea for similar from your side…
I am deeply in a »Railway project« with 1K+ panoramas, object photography, walking trough tunnels, viaducts,…climbing below bridges in narrow gorges … it was almost logical that my panorama participation for the current event is going to be railway related.
The technologies are changing and influencing also the professions, some are vanishing and some new are appearing. Same is with locomotives… where does locomotives which served out finish? Some in museums, some recycled, some are becoming ghosts, like the electric locomotive series 362 from 1962 which through its service until 2009 became a legend (although not very liked among engineers) and is nowadays only abandoned shell: http://www.burger.si/DOGODKI/Preteklost/Lokomotive/362_Mehovka/01_Lokomotiva_362_021.html ... “Mortality of the legends”.

Decade

It was ten years ago when Donald Bain and Landis Benett started the very first event of »The World Wide Panorama« ( http://worldwidepanorama.org ) – The original WWP (http://worldwidepanorama.org/worldwidepanorama/wwp304/index.html). 182 panographers all around the world  participated with the panoramic photography taken exactly on March 20th 2004.
This time, ten years later,  the name of the theme is »Decade«, which you may (if you decide so..) interpret as »anniversary« or literally as decade – like a change of the place in past ten years, like 10 years old plant, 10 years old building, bridge, construction…, 10 years old event which happened on a place of your next panorama, a place with 10 »rules«, commandments…Decalogue (that might be simple with the fans of Moses).
In case that you don't find idea about decade try with the place with ten objects… like ten (empty) beer bottles on the table ;)… feel free to interpret your idea about decade, ten, … and don't panic… just take your towel with you ;)

Kind regars!

Bostjan

PS. please excuse me to not being prompt this time – I was working on a centenary panoramic project, that is ten times decade 

No, no... it is not that movie from Greek legends... The all year event Forest just hit the number of 300 panoramas, yes I know far away from the »glory days« and popularity of WWP in 2005 and 2006, but here we are … »still standing«. Five (5) more days to upload your Forest and Culture related panoramas and sure, your Mortality »idea«, last time for the photography was last Sunday – but still plenty of time to prepare your upload.
