Greetings to all of you.
Well this is my introduction. My name is Elie Mambou, and I am from Johannesburg, South Africa.
I am married to my sweetheart childhood friend and together we have a son, Gilles who happens to be studying with BYU Idaho also but in Information Technology. It's quite amazing, because by the time, he was born in 1991, I had already graduated as an engineer in Agriculture. And now after 25 years, we are studying in the same institution, but I agree it's nice to see father and son study together. So I am doing a degree in business management with emphasis in Entrepreneurship. At the moment this is my third year with BYU Idaho. So I am getting there.
For years, I have struggled with speeches. But things have somewhat improved with much involvement since I joined the church 21 years ago. And now I want to improve much more and that’s the reason I took this course. As a communicator, interpersonal skills are in good demand, and I hope to make the great deal this semester.
On the personal level, I work for the Church in the Africa South East Area where I look after 8 countries as a Buyer. Speaking with those we serve and interact can be very challenging. And there is no better way to improve my listening and elocution skills but to attend this course. For that, I am very grateful.
Pap or foufou is my favorite dish or meal and I also like rice and pasta. I spend most of my time at home studying and often we will watch the English football matches with my family on the big screen.
Amazingly, I speak French, English, German, and Spanish quite fluently. That’s another reason why I need to improve my communication and interpersonal skills.
Total courses taken online this semester 3.
I look forward to learning and interacting with every student, and do hope that I will learn a great deal more from this class.
See you soon!
