That's the musicdisk. If you want the music in better quality (lossless even), grab it here: http://scenesat.com/forum/threads/2784-The-Sound-of-SceneSat-Volume-2

Not much going on here, so i captured the winner of The Party 1994. Of course from a real machine in MS-DOS with Gravis Ultrasound. This demo features mostly flat shaded 3D vector objects in software rendering. While such graphics didn't aged well due to the upcoming 3D accelerators the scenes are still impressive for a 486 platform in SuperVGA.

From minute 3:00 to 4:00, is it me, or I am listening to the same musical structure by Purple Motion in the demo Panic? Not copy, I just say the songs are very similar in structure and "feeling"...

Welcome to Issue 6 of the Infamous Amiga Demoscene Mixtape. Autumn's there, it's getting cold and stormy outside, so I think it's time for keeping the happy mood in the Heart. So here are some well and some not-so-well known happy tracks from the 90s. Many Great tracks and even some crap of myself. So turn up the bleepers and enjoy.

Archive.org nonsense!

Hello everyone I am sure this is just nonsense, but I have a big collection of demoscene files and videos hosted up on archive.org and over the last few weeks Archive.org has systematically been erasing all the zip files of the demos saying they are detecting malware and virus, I know a few demos tend to get flagged as false positives, but they are literally flagging everything i have uploaded there, these are unmodified zips directly from pouet.net, here is an example of what they send me : https://www.virustotal.com/en/file/1100a5de591156ea83ded3307824bfd46680f421286e7c710877e3e38348e8c8/analysis/1395387533/

I have sent them a response telling them I think this is ridiculous, anyone have an clue why all the sudden this is happening?  my archive is here : https://archive.org/search.php?query=nebadon2025

well over 50% of the zip files I have uploaded here have been removed now, I get about 2-3 emails a day from them saying they are erasing files due to viruses being found!

*additional info :
I  should also mention all of these files were uploaded many years ago

This is the current system I did the captures for the late DOS demos from. Most require a VESA 2.0 compatible graphics card with a fast CPU and a GUS. So this is a P3 800 MHz on a 440BX mainboard with a S3 Trio3D/2x, Gravis Ultrasound 2.4 and an AWE32 for the SB demos. There is also a network card hidden and a SATA controller for a 2.5" HDD. The sound cards are routed to an external mixer to adjust the volume levels of each separately. The third picture shows the capture PC in the background with the DOS system on the TFT to the left. This Belinea TFT does 50 Hz to 85 Hz and custom modes which is rather nice. On the larger screen the same output can be seen from the capture card in a window for sync adjustments prior capturing with virtualdub. Of course the system is open, so I can change to a SB Pro 2 if I need a real OPL3 (e.g. for Amnesia/Renaissance) or sometimes the demos are just picky (buggy?) about certain hardware.

I currently have a Epiphan VGA2PCIe and the successor the DVI2PCIe capture card.
VGA2PCIe: http://www.epiphan.com/products/frame-grabbers/vga2pcie/specifications/

DVI2PCIe: http://www.epiphan.com/products/dvi-frame-grabbers/dvi2pcie/specifications/
Before I tried other cards as the Hauppauge Colossus and AverMedia Gamebroadcaster HD but those have severe problems with low resolution custom modes and some more limitations, like no RGB24 color space format. The VGA2PCIe is more like the digital version of an analog CRT where you can adjust the frequencies and sync offsets manually. The card is able to sync starting from 15 kHz horizontal frequencies which also allows to capture analog RGB output from an Amiga or Atari (VGA standard starts at 31 kHz). But also this card has limits, the detection on a mode change needs sometimes a few seconds and it does not handle variable horizontal scan line offsets within the same frame. Like the horizontal tech-tech effect in Copper by Surprise Productions!. Though this is criticism on a high level.
I usually capture with virtualdub, RGB24 and Lagarith codec which is lossless. In a second step it is encoded with x264 CRF18.

Just captured yesterday one of the more underrated dos demos. It gave me quite some headache to find a graphics card where it actually worked. In the end a S3 Virge/DX did the job. This is probably also the reason that most people don't get it running...

I got ahold of an Otamatone - a quirky Japanese music toy, and ended up chiming along to Stardust Memories by Jester (an awesome Amiga demo soundtrack from 1992).

Booted up the Amiga, killed the lead melody sample and recorded it into Audition.

40+ takes of Otamatone later.
