Tips & Tricks  -

Move your channel to a different Google+ Profile or Page in your channel's Advanced Settings

Start at www.youtube.com/account_advanced to begin the transfer process. The only requirement is that you are signed in as the owner of both your channel and the destination Google+ Page or Profile.

I've written up more detailed instructions with screenshots here::

+Kmn Locations if the videos are uploaded to your Google+ Page, you will have to sign in to the Page's special Google account directly to import them to YouTube. I've written up instructions here: http://www.peggyktc.com/2014/11/import-google-plus-videos-youtube.html#Import

+Peggy K  This morning my youtube account TwoPlusOneMathRocks had all my videos which I am very proud of and spent years getting views on. But now my account lost all but ONE video and I also lost all my subscribers. And now it says my youtube account is linked to a google + account. I dont have a clue what happened but I just want my videos and subscribers to come back and I didnt know where to post about this or who to contact.

+Gary Hank is this your channel URL? https://www.youtube.com/user/TwoPlusOneMathRocks
That channel is linked to this Google+, which perhaps was deleted: https://plus.google.com/109855818114667999232
If you deleted your Google+ Profile, the channel connected to it becomes hidden, but you can restore it by following these instructions:
https://support.google.com/youtube/answer/2972692

If you did not delete your Google+ Profile, then it would help to know what changes you made to your account recently.

I set up a youtube account with a new gmail account and gave it a profile image/avatar (my trademarked YoMama). I listed my yahoo email for recovery, and now this image is attached to my yahoo email when I send messages from yahoo to anyone with gmail. I do not want the image associated with my yahoo account, only with my gmail account. What can I do to disassociate it?

Hi +V Acker Gmail will show the Google+ Profile information associated with the email address, including the profile image. The alternative is to use a Google+ Page for your YouTube channel, which would give it a separate identity from your Google+ Profile.

You can create a Google+ Brand page starting on your Pages dashboard ( plus.google.com/dashboard ). Use any name, and add your profile image there.

Once you've created a new Page, you can move your channel to the Page starting in your channel's Advanced settings (www.youtube.com/account_advanced). Choose the option to "move to a different Google+ page or profile"

i've tried to add a manager to a page/youtube and it says that i cannot add a 'page' as a manager. however i have this 'page' as a moderator on a g+ community. anybody ever run into this?

I know for a fact that only profiles can act as managers of a page. You also can't add a manager to a profile.
Communities may have a separate set of rules since they are not really an entity or identity, such that a profile is a person and a page is a "business".

Can you join multiple Local business pages to a single YouTube Channel?

+John Campbell no you cannot. A Google+ Page or Profile is the identity for the channel, so it can only be one YouTube channel connected to one Google+ Page.

Hi. I am wondering how do you suppose to manage Google+ and youtube comments?
I have a Google+ page that has a youtube channel. I am so confused with Google+ and youtube comment system.
If I post my youtube video on my Google+ page or in Google+ communities, the post will show up as youtube comments in youtube.
That just look odds, it looks like I am commenting on my own videos and spamming my own videos.
If I go to the CREATOR STUDIO in youtube, I could "remove" my comments, but that would also remove the same comments in Google+.
Interestingly, a few days ago, if I go to the actual youtube video page (not CREATOR STUDIO) and remove my comments, it would ask me if I also want to delete the comment. If I say NO, it would remove the comments from youtube but Google+ comment remains untouched. That is great, that is what I want.
Now, it seems I am not able to do that again. If I try removing, there is no more asking if I want to delete the comments. It just delete my Google+ comments as well.
And the comments I see on CREATOR STUDIO is not what the public will see. So, I have to sign out and go to my own video page to confirm exactly what comments the public can see.
How my i suppose to share my videos with some related communities in Google+, or even simple announce my video on my own Google+ page?
I have tried so many times posting and deleting comments in different ways to find a solution, This is driving me crazy.
Can somebody help and give me some advice, please?

Hi +joho mako the short answer is that yes, the Google+ shares of your videos will show up as comments, so be sure you don't just share the video, but also make a good intro in the post. Also, go into your Google+ Page's Settings (gear icon in the left menu on desktop or mobile browser), and de-select the option to "Show your Google+ communities posts on the Posts tab of your Google+ profile." - I believe that makes it less likely your share to a community will appear as a comment.

if I post a video link on a google+ page, is there a way to do this without having the post show up in the comments section of the video?  are the comments the same thing now or are comments on the video one thing and comments in a google+ community another?  confusing.

I guess another way then is to post a picture first and provide the link to G+ afterwards. Google will only take the first item to post.

I would like to transfer my YouTube channel ownership to another Google+ profile.

Currently, I own YouTube channel UCqd6TofKNjqagInm5Waeu7w using this Google+ account (https://plus.google.com/102418062244233907535). I would like the new owner of this YouTube channel to be this Google+ account (https://plus.google.com/u/0/100337557793395361973).

Also, can you confirm that this new Google+ account (which is also a Google Apps for Work account) can handle up to 15 participants on Hangouts on Air?

+Slide Rule I'm not sure what you mean exactly when you say it's showing up in your Google+ community? Did you set up the HOA when you were signed into the new Google+ Profile you just transferred your channel to? (See below)

it looks like your channel (www.youtube.com/channel/UCqd6TofKNjqagInm5Waeu7w) is connected to this Google+ Profile: https://plus.google.com/100337557793395361973 ( +SlideRule )
For your HOA to be recorded to that channel, you need to run the HOA signed in to that Google+ Profile (which is different than the profile you are using for this discussion.

Hi all,

I am trying to specify my youtube name, which, as I understand it, I have to do by changing my Google+ name.

It would like for it to simply be 'sonosublime', for ease of searches. However, Google+ requires that both name fields be filled out. I considered simply putting a period as the last name, but I worry that might affect Google searches, etc

It's a bit ridiculous. I simply want to have a 1-word name for my youtube account. Is there a way to do that?

+Jordan M I think the best thing you can do is make sure your videos have a good accurate description, title and tags (don't try to add too many tags - fewer and more accurate is better).
