"40 years ago while studying with the great Lennie Tristano i sang "Line Up" for him during my lessons bit by bit week after week and eventually sang the whole thing for him...lennie said "When you hit a note with a finger, you sank into that note all the way into the bottom of the keyboard (or bass) until it went 'pow'!" I always envisioned playing it on the bass ~ it took a while for me to get to it...heres a first time top to bottom try..."

to be stricken with Prostate cancer and having a radical prostatectomy caused me to take a pause a evaluate what is really important in my life. The surgery appears to have removed the cancer but I am still facing a long road to recovery. I have spent more time in prayer and my faith is growing stronger every day. I have decided that my Catholic Faith and my family are more important to me than playing bars and nightclubs. For now I have to say I have retired from the rat race of the music scene, and besides after cancer I won't play smoke filled venues anymore. I will not hide my talent under a bushel so If The Lord desires to use my percussion skills I will obey His Call, In the meantime I will sing, play guitar, cajon, light percussion and harmonica for St. Paul The Apostle Catholic Church and hope that I can offer music to The Franciscan Order

Most of our fears are the result of believing a story that simply is not true. It is only by looking at Him, who is reality and truth, that we can overcome our fears and experience the freedom that is ours as children of God.
