This past weekend I found myself setting up camp high up in the Colorado Rockies at 12,553 ft, once camp was set up and grabbing a bite to eat it didn’t take long for night to settle in. A very cold still air filled in around camp while the lake went glass calm, I decided to set up the camera to try and pull off a all night time-lapse of the stars overhead. The first photograph I took was this one as I stood along the shoreline trying to keep warm, the moon was just about to set behind the mountains as a cool looking steam started to form over the lake from the freezing air. Once I finally had everything going on my camera for the time-lapse, I wasted no time diving into my very warm sleeping bag which was a welcome relief, this night would prove to be one of the coldest on this trip but one I wont forget, talk about falling into one of the deepest sleeps I had in awhile!
