I am very opinionated about high school education, we all are about to become young adults and go into the "real world" and all we are learning is how to graph parabolas, why cant we actually have some people teach us how to pay the bills, how to change your tires and more things like that.

Something that I am very opinionated about is judging. I can’t stand it when people judge others based on looks, impressions, or what they think they know about that person. Like when people see someone dressed in black and automatically assume they’re a gothic drugie, or if someone has tattoo’s you they automatically think they’re a bad person. You never know who someone is really like on the inside until you get to know them. So just be nice and do not judge people.

I think people should put themselves out there and stop worrying about stuff. Everyone should go do random stuff take a drive with no destination, go to a crazy party, Basically any risk you can take go do it. If theres a good story at the end then you did it right.

My Transcendental Song:

I picked the song from The Greatest Showman called This Is Me. I think that it has all 5 of the transcendental ideas. It talks about not caring what others think and be who you are because that’s who you were meant to be. Although you may be bruised and broken you can overcome it and be brave and strong and be you. And that is individuality, growth, optimism, and over soul. And sometimes standing out and being different from others can be weird but it’s important to be who you are. Different isn’t bad, and I think that’s anti-society.

‘This Is Me”- Keala Settle

I'm not a stranger to the dark
Hide away, they say
'Cause we don't want your broken parts
I've learned to be ashamed of all my scars
Run away, they say
No one will love you as you are

But I won't let them break me down to dust
I know that there's a place for us
For we are glorious

When the sharpest words wanna cut me down
I'm gonna send a flood, gonna drown them out
I am brave, I am bruised
I am who I'm meant to be, this is me
Look out 'cause here I come
And I'm marching on to the beat I drum
I'm not scared to be seen
I make no apologies, this is me

Another round of bullets hits my skin
Well, fire away 'cause today, I won't let the shame sink in
We are bursting through the barricades
And reaching for the sun (we are warriors)
Yeah, that's what we've become

Won't let them break me down to dust
I know that there's a place for us
For we are glorious

When the sharpest words wanna cut me down
Gonna send a flood, gonna drown them out
I am brave, I am bruised
I am who I'm meant to be, this is me
Look out 'cause here I come
And I'm marching on to the beat I drum
I'm not scared to be seen
I make no apologies, this is me

...This is me

And I know that I deserve your love
There's nothing I'm not worthy of
When the sharpest words wanna cut me down
I'm gonna send a flood, gonna drown them out
This is brave, this is bruised
This is who I'm meant to be, this is me

Look out 'cause here I come (look out 'cause here I come)
And I'm marching on to the beat I drum (marching on, marching, marching on)
I'm not scared to be seen
I make no apologies, this is me

I'm gonna send a flood
Gonna drown them out
(...this is me)

Miley Cyrus: “The Climb”

5 Transcendentals:
In this song it shows individuality when she talks about all the things that happen to her, but she always keeps trying and never lets it tear her down. She shows optimism when she talks about all her ups and downs but never has a bad attitude and always try’s her best to make the situations better. In this song she uses anti society by never letting anyone of anything stop her from accomplishing what she wants to accomplish. She uses nature allows for growth when she talks about mountains a figurative language of having to climb them and in the outcome she becomes a better and more stronger person because of it. In the song she says “always going to be an uphill battle sometimes you gonna have to loose”, I think that this is huge and powerful and can go with oversoul because of how deep and personal she gets not just with this part of the song but the whole song.

Lyrics:
I can almost see it
That dream I'm dreaming but
There's a voice inside my head saying
You'll never reach it,
Every step I'm taking,
Every move I make feels
Lost with no direction
My faith is shaking but I
Gotta keep trying
Gotta keep my head held high
There's always gonna be another mountain
I'm always gonna wanna make it move
Always gonna be an uphill battle
Sometimes I'm gonna have to lose
Ain't about how fast I get there
Ain't about what's waiting on the other side
It's the climb
The struggles I'm facing
The chances I'm taking
Sometimes might knock me down but
No I'm not breaking
I may not know it
But these are the moments that
I'm going to remember most yeah
Just got to keep going
And I
I gotta be strong
Just keep pushing on, 'cause
There's always gonna be another mountain
I'm always gonna wanna make it move
Always gonna be an uphill battle
Sometimes I'm gonna have to lose
Ain't about how fast I get there
Ain't about what's waiting on the other side
It's the climb (yeah)
There's always gonna be another mountain
I'm always gonna wanna make it move
Always gonna be a uphill battle
Sometimes you gonna have to lose
Ain't about how fast I get there
Ain't about what's waiting on the other side
It's the climb (yeah yeah ea ea)
Keep on moving
Keep climbing
Keep the faith baby
It's all about
It's all about
The climb
Keep the faith
Keep your faith
Whoa oh oh

My song is sun and good lovingg by fell and I love this song. Hes talking about how he just wants a good time and he shows that all you need is some sun and good loving;) SWEARS

Aye, said I don’t smoke no cigarettes
But if I did I would smoke ‘em with you
The way you move it from the tip of your lips
And flickin’ your wrist
I really don’t know what to do
You want the lies or the truth?
I keep that faith without proof
And i'll be damned if the devil want a seat in my room
We couldn’t stunt, but we grew
She lace me up in that noose
Your lady-luck just keep fuckin up my day-to-day moves
Hope I don’t fade away soon
From Playstation on that basketball
To no sleep from the Adderall
She keep my clothes for collateral
And after all it’s said and done
I did my time and had my fun
But homie pass the blunt
Before I have to run away to somewhere far away
The destination I won’t mention (no, no)
C’mon smile it’s depressing
I lost my mom when dad died, but shit it taught me lessons
I guess time bombs happen
Sad but still we laughin’
Lemme put this in the attic (yup, yup)
If you got the means of doin' somethin’ big then make it happen
But if you gonna let your craft get dusty
Bring it right back to the attic and stop bein’ so dramatic
Not responsible for anything that happens
Or anything that doesn’t
I just wanna see my team turn to somethin’
Other than the coke or the smoke that people puffin’
Let’s find a new subject maybe change the world or somethin’
Bring up goals without nothin’, fuck it
All I want in life is the sun and good loving
Climbing up these heights just to jump from the summit
And I never stay too long and after this I’m probably runnin’, runnin’...

What i think the allegory is saying is that the shadows in our life represent how we feel about our selves and how we view others the fire in the story is representing the flame in our lives and weather we will let it shine or snuff us out
and the cave represents our life in the world as a whole and what we do with our life is the matter of good or evil we always have the right to choose the way we go

Best Line: "I said I never had much use for them not that I don't know how to use it."
This line stood out to me because it ties to the education that we are given in school. We learn all these things that are important to our lives, but most likely won't use everyday of our lives. We grow up knowing generally what we want to be but forget about all the other things that we should learn just in case we need it later on, similar to Quigley did.

I think that any mention of light in the allegory is a representation of knowledge or learning. Only being able to see a 2D projection of something is extremely insufficient if you want to know everything. But having whatever issue you want in front of you with just truth shining on it, you can't understand it wholly. And with all learning it takes time and practice and exposure. And when you have enough knowledge comprehension it illuminates any obstacle. Returning to the extreme level of unknowing you can have a hard time functioning because there are so many in between steps in getting from one to the other and those still accustomed to that level are no where near that. Thats why its so hard to argue with dumb people.
