The question is often asked 'what is the first step in beginning to change my negative #self-talk and thinking patterns?' Great question, and I hope my reply doesn't sound too flippant. The first step is to become increasingly aware of (1) exactly what you are thinking and (2) what #moods and #emotions.

Why? The first step is to become a "student" of those thoughts, that is, learn from them. In order to do that, you have to know exactly what they are.

This is the first step in a classic #CBT, or Cognitive Behaviural Therapy approach.
